If the dang thing wasn't so heavy (looking for a light bike and to sell the VALK) I would jump
all over this...it is really something and may be a steal.

The early Wings are light. It is not a heavy bike by any means.
The current bid price is above what I think is a deal, but it is likely worth it given what has been done.
The early ones are now called "naked". They are highly desireable for that reason.
A negative is the repaint. It may well be a Honda color, but it means the bike is not original. That matters to many.
I would not replace your Valk with that Wing (or any other 70's bike). It is too collectable to be a daily, or even frequent rider. This one is a second bike, Sunday only, in my opinion, mainly because it is hard to get parts. There will be someone who jumps in soon and says otherwise, but they are dead wrong.
Don't know your type of riding but test ride a newer (2006 and up) Bonneville for kicks-they aren't bad and they are way lighter than the Valk.
Many here have gone to lighter bikes. I'm hoping you'll get some ideas, or start a new thread with that question. I'm sure you are not alone in looking.

Very nice.....    :cooldude: I just put "antique" plates on 2 of my 4 bikes, the 73 CL350 has had the Antique plates for a few years now.   The Valkyrie is the only one without the "antique" plates.... but god willing we both will make it to see that day.  Permanent registration, no state inspection... just pay for insurance, maintenance and operating (fuel) costs.

If you are looking for lighter and smooth.... check out an older Honda Inline 4 Cyl.  Lightweight, Smooth and powerful.

That is one nice GW but probably should not be a daily rider.

i've always wanted a Bonneville but the Strom is working for me and is much lighter than a Valk.  525 pounds for the Strom 1000 vs 800 pounds for the Valk.  The 650 Wee Strom is even lighter at about 485. A plus for the WEE is it should do mild off road.

I have a 650 V strom.
The bike and I together weigh less than the Valk by itself.
Seat height is a good bit higher than the Valk though.
