Public execution , like they do in other countries.
A SLOW HANGING , JUST CREEP UP WITH THE ROPE.
Lethal injection , with battery acid.
Public flogging , by the people dirrectly effected. Then sell tickets to the public with the procedes going to those in need form the bombs.
Show everyone else that we will not tolerate terrorist action.
              If I hurt someones feelings , T O  B A D !!!!
I will flip the switch , throw the lever , push the button or whatever it takes.

Pres, that's a bit extreme.

Let the punishment meet the crime.

A fair execution here would be for him to have his lower legs blown off with explosives (with no Novocain), then the lethal injection started a few minutes later.

I have no problem with the death penalty, as long as we are DEAD sure of the guilt.

gotta watch out for the politically motivated prosecutors though, remember Nifong and the duke lacrosse rape case. the politicians will plow under the innocent for the votes to remain in office.

I've heard enough of the cases got overturned in cook co IL the gov suspended the death penalty because of criminal neglect and actual criminal suppression of DNA evidence  in the relentless pursuit of those they KNEW were innocent but went ahead and prosecuted them anyway. I'll not point out the obvious, cook co IS Chi-town, a dem stronghold for decades.

multiple eye witnesses, video evidence, DNA evidence are all enough for me to convict for the ultimate sentence.

FACT- no murderer sentenced to death ever commited murder again after  the punishment was dealt out.

Looks to me like it's a damn shame the survivor is a US citizen. I don't think he can be declared an enemy combatant if he's a citizen. If he could be declared an "enemy combatant" then he could face "enhanced interrogation techniques" at the hands of our military I would think. Perhaps after drowning and being brought back several times we would know exactly what kind of helpers (if any) they had here in the states and overseas. I'd think that public knowledge of this might help prevent further episodes too.

i'm going to assume you're thinking of the "boston" thing.  well, they did publicly exicute one person, and they did it the "american" way, the way john wayne would have done it, hunted the guy down and shot 'em in the street.

now, myself, since i believe in the ancient system of "innocent until PROVEN guilty", i think they should have caught the person, PROVEN they have the right person in a court of "LAW", then pass judgement.  i don't believe in "street" justice, that's how we got the nazi's, the taliban, pinochet, groups of that order.

so, what america do you want to live in, one that uses mob-justice, or the old system it was founded on where every man is innocent until proven guilty?

Man deserves a proper trial in which he is afforded all the same rights as we all have
He is a citizen     But empty his brain of any knowledge of others who are going down this path

Seems to me that would be consistent with his own set of values   For the record
I am seldom asked to babysit either

I do agree that capital punishment has been applied to many who were innocent and that is something that you just cant right once carried out   Seems like here there is NO doubt whatsoever.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe the two brothers started this with alledgely placing two bombs in Boston and then kidnapped and stole a vehicle, took the owners ATM card, told that person they were the Boston bombers and then executed an MIT police officer and severly wounded another MIT LEO, then after being pursued, started shooting before the police fired (reportedly), chucked bombs at the police who were trying to apprehend them.    While the one brother may have died from police bullets, I don't see what happened as hunting them down and executing.  I'm thinking they had a huge role in how this worked out.

Had they put their hands in the air during the MIT episode, I'm betting both would still be alive.

If this happened in the" land of 72 virgins"  how do you think they would deal with this crime? Fair trial? Due justice? I think not. Do you think they would stone him? Hang him? Public flogging? Maybe a good old fashion caneing? Bet not. You think they would lock him up and feed him? cloth him and take care of him for years? I would bet my bike that they would do none of the above. John Schmidt

I once read an old joke about this philandering type being sent to meet his maker. Seems he had a thing for booze and broads, and when he arrived at the pearly gate, that stuff was all around him. He was thrilled beyond measure, until St. Peter approached him. He first pointed to all the high priced booze bottles sitting on the shelf and asked the new arrival how he liked the display. Of course he could hardly wait to get started. Then St. Pete pointed to the beautiful(an assumption) 72 virgins, and again asked how he liked the view, and as expected our boy was excited over the thought of all this being just for him. Then St. Pete said "see all those bottles, they all have holes in them. See all those beautiful women.....they don't."   :'(

Alf,

We live in the America we live in.  Citizens not engaged in acts of terrorism or the use of a weapon of mass destruction are afforded all rights under Miranda and are innocent until proven guilty.  However, even the best moral upstanding citizen would be and should be shot DRT (dead right there) if they start shooting at police officers or throwing explosives out of their car indiscriminatly.  If we cant shoot them in the street, why do the police have guns at all?

I want to live in an America where criminals are punished hard enough that others decide "hey, I shouldnt do that!"

I want to live in the America where if I shoot a home invader I dont have to worry about being sued or prosecuted because I was unfair to some poor criminal that has rights

I want to live in the America where people are held accountable for doing wrong, and law abiding citizens are free again

But that's not Liberal America.  Something happened in that poor boys short 19 years of life to force him into this.  He couldn't help it.  It was his surroundings and the way he was raised.  He should be hugged and kissed and told that we will take care of him and make sure no further harm will ever come to him.  Poor young lad.  Those seeking to end his life should be the ones on trial for not caring about their fellow man.  How could Americans be so cruel as to want his life ended simply because he murdered other citizens and police, destroted families and lives, and terrorized one of it's oldest and historic cities?  The anger directed toward this poor young man makes me ashamed of my fellow Americans.

Each situation presents it's own set of circumstances.  I believe that our law enforcement professionals would rather capture a live suspect than have to terminate them.  But there are times when the suspect has other ideas, such as an explosive vest that may have been the item that actually killed him, not the police bullets.

"The Globe reported an explosive trigger was found on Tamerlan's body, which exhibited "blast wounds," when it was examined at the morgue."

Read more: http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2013/04/19/Boston-Marathon-manhunt-Suspect-in-custody/UPI-65251366351810/#ixzz2R1YpdsPy

Would you suggest that the police should have waited until the suspects were out of ammunition and bombs, then waited until they were ready to surrender at the risk of more innocents and policemen being injured or killed?   If not, what was your solution?  How would you have modified the situation and the reaction in order to follow the "old system"?  If the suspect had been captured and then triggered his explosive vest, then what?

one of the executioners for the crown whose name was "derrick" came up with a complex rig to hang multiple people at once, up to 30 or 40 I think, ever since we name large rigs "derricks"

Alph, I dont think you are an idiot.  Those thoughts passed through my wee brain too.  However, I had to temper those thoughts with the amount of folks that were there that were all in one accord, the facts were not obscure, contradicting or confusing.  Had they miraculously found the perpetrators so quick and very few were involved and they showed the evidence AFTER it was all over, then I would still be skeptical.

The pictures from the beginning showed these two guys, the after pictures are clearly the same guys.  The law enforcement was not done by ONLY FEDS (that would have been suspect) and the actions of the suspects confirm they are the right guys.  If it was a fabrication they sure did it up right to fool all those cops, FBI and local people.

Its healthy to question the media and even authority, but this time I think the situation dissolved my doubts rather quickly
