New Helmet ?? suggestions

I am in the market for a new half helmet. Any one now of some good ones. Not many in stores around here so been browsing the web.

If you go to Leatherup.com and look at the Outlaw 1/2 helmets you will find a nice selection. I purchased one last year and it has turned out to be my favorite helmet. I had my doubts when I ordered it because of the low price but I was pleasantly surprised. Over the years I have purchased more HJC helmets than any other brand.

Im not a big fan of scorpion, wore one for a whole riding season and any more than a couple hours in it a day would hurt my head. Thought it just needed broke in. not the case. Maybe it was just my big odd shaped melon.
I now have an hjc and love it.

I'm not sure that a forum like this is the best place to start looking for a helmet.  Already you see a lot of suggestions.  My reasoning is that we have heads that are sized and shaped differently and some brands of helmets accommodate certain shapes better than other brands.  A test fitting is essential.  Try going to HelmetHarbor.com [no association other than customer].  They have video reviews on most of the helmets they carry.  LeatherUp.com is another good online outlet, but I have only purchased jackets through them.   

I wear a Scorpion EXO-100 that I purchased late in 2007.  I must like it, I've worn it for five years.  BTW, my wife wears one too.

Good advice. 

You cannot just order a helmet online in your USUAL size and expect a fit.  Sending it back may or may not result in you getting a proper fit.  You really need to drive around and try them on.  If you find one you like, then go home and order on line (in the right size in that particular make and model) IF it saves you enough money to make it worth it.

Thanx everyone was just looking for suggestion and all are great. I live in the sticks and not a lot of stores that carry many options to look at and try on. So unless I find one that carries something I want I usually take my chances online.

Some helmets are becoming more specialized now and you can take advantage of that. Nolan, for example, fits heads that are a little more oblong than round. I bought a Nolan N104 last year and love it. Fits me way better than the HJC brand did.

My head is sized as a "Long oval" never found a good fit until I tried a Z1R. Most comfortable helmet I have ever owned.

You or someone looking at you should be able get a close guess on your head-shape.

webbikeworld.com has a ton of info.  I don't agree with, nor endorse, all of their reviews.

Try http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmet-shapes.htm.  This gives a start on helmets that fit head-shapes.

Revzilla.com has good videos.  The phone support has been very knowledgeable the two times I have talked with them.  They have a very liberal return policy. Also, have dealt with helmetcity.com.  Never used their phone support, nor return policy.  I have no connection with either company, other than being a customer.

It is good that you do want something on that noggin.
