Oh my God.  Oooops.  Better not say that in the military now.  Feel like saying a little prayer before going into battle?  Fuhgeddaboutit.

Turns out, sharing your faith in the military can get you court martialed now.  Seems they feel that by doing so, you're committing a crime on par with other crimes such as treason and sexual assault and is tantamount to "spiritual rape".

Obama "appointees" are meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein developing court-martial procedures designed to punish Christians in the military.

Bet ya dollars to donuts that the moooslums can talk about Alah all they want with zero reprussions.

Apparently it's okay to court martial Christians in the military now and perfectly politically correct to do so, but by God, (oops....can't say his name now.....Obama might be listenting) we sure as hell have no problems providing prayer rugs, gourmet meals and plenty of korans for the moooslums at Guantanamo.....not to mention F-16's and billions of dollars to the Muslim Brotherhood.   :uglystupid2:

Seems there's no end to the WTF's now-a-days  :o
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

There is no greater testimony to the validity of the Bible than the warning and prophecy in it that says Christians will be persecuted in the end times for spreading the Good News. This would have been unheard of just 5 years ago.
Joh 16:1  "These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling.
Joh 16:2  "They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God.
Joh 16:3  "These things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me.
Joh 16:4  "But these things I have spoken to you, so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you.
"Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that."

When I took the oath in 1964 when I joined the United States navy there was something to the effect of guarding against all enemies-foreign and domestic. Looks like to me anywho it be high time to protect against this domestic chit dat be happening-NOW. RIDE SAFE.
Today is the tommorow you worried about yesterday. If at first you don't succeed screw it-save it for nite check.  1964  1968 U S Navy. Two cruises off Nam.

I gotta chime in here.

Muslims visit the White House.
Christian Coptics do not?

Why???

The Muslim Brotherhood has a White House adviser. (Go look it up yourself.)

Why???

Al-Queda in Syria is being supported by the USA in their fight against Assad.

Why???

And so on.........................................................

Well done wilfully ignorant American voters.

I don't see much changing in 2014.  :(

But everything is OK

Kids can buy the next morning pill.

The foul man in the White House calls a gay basketball player to congratulate him (who really cares about his sexuality)

Benghazi "was a long time ago" according to Jay Carney. (Go look it up yourself.)

The great American public continues to let it brain get atrophied by reality TV crap, jock sniffing and ooh and aahing over Hollywood stars.

They deserve everything that's coming.

the best way to shut a "christian" up is to agree with 'em.  if you don't they'll nag and nag and nag you to death!!  these are people that LOVE an arguement more than the prize.  so, when that co-worker, friend, riding companion, who ever, say's "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL UNLESS YOU REPENT!!" just agree with 'em, then walk away!!  you'll never hear from 'em again...... (and that's a good thing)

Spiritual rape?  Anybody have a working definition of what that might be?

WilliamRS

Isn't this issue about someone higher up the chain of command pushing their beliefs onto subordinants?  If your commanding officer is pushing for everyone to attend a bible study or other religious event then yes, there should be some protections in place for subordinates.  And in the military any infraction of a rule can be subject to a court martial (or artical 15 hearing)

There is a reason that chaplins have rank but are outside the chain of command.

in the military you cannot force anyone to listen to your religious beliefs,, but you can talk about it to willing listeners...or have discussions,,,its not banned at all,,

Alph, I wish you would have had the privilege of meeting my dad. A more devout person you would never meet, but the nagging you speak of would have never come from him. He  abhorred  those tactics and felt they were instrumental in turning a person away rather winning them over. You would immediately realize that he was "different" by his very demeanor. If you asked him about something spiritual, you would get a complete and straight forward answer....nothing more. If you wanted to discuss a certain aspect of Christianity, he would do so but you never felt as though he was trying to proselytize. In short, he never beat you over the head with the Bible, although I often felt his time at saying Grace before a meal was a bit long.  ;)

When my girls were young and we had the folks over for a meal, they would ask me ahead of time to not have "gramps" say Grace. One daughter said it was mean to have to sit there and smell all that good cooking and still have to wait for him to finish. When they got much older, they used to tease him about it. And being their gramps, he loved it. Two of those girls are with him now and I hope they're still teasing him.  :cooldude:

John, to be honestly honest with you, I probably would have like to have met your father also.  not for the argument, but just because I've learned that a person that "practices what they preach" isn't the same type of person that say's "do what I say, not as I do!"......  you also have to realize that unless a person kicks the hornets nest once in a while, the bees forget how to defend their hive.........

yes that probably works on "christians"

There are "xxxxx" members of all faiths and its advisable NOT to bash the rest or form strong opinions based on a few bad apples
