General/Tech board - not sure where... NON-Valk

As I stated I'm not sure if this should be in "Tech" or "General" but here goes:

I'm needing some half-shafts for my '99 Nissan Sentra.

Went to "RockAuto" and found a few but... anyone know if any brands are better than others?  Any experience with these?

The prices range anywhere from $38 to $55.

Although this is on my workcar I want to do this once and forget it, hopefully till I retire in 10 or so years!!

Or does anyone have any other ideas/experience with this or similar repairs and can enlighten me?

Out of all the names only Cardone or I'm guessing it was a misspell EMPI I know, but I can tell you that its not a big deal. I would guess that no matter the name its probably going to be ok. Its not a hard job to install and I have yet to see one fail replacement only usually is because of a torn boot.

Just make sure that the axle nut is torque to proper spec to avoid bearing failure. Ive done alot of hub replacements because shops just beat the nut on with an impact. Too loose, bearing separates, too tight, bearing eats itself alive. That is the only real critical thing that needs to be done. The rest is simple.

I've probably changed a few hundred of these during my mechanicing career, that is no problem.

I called around and found that all of the parts houses have these shafts and they pretty much all have a lifetime warranty. Although all that means is you get another one to put in if "the new one" breaks.  You still gotta do it.

I was really trying to figure out if any brand is better than others, or do I need to "stay away" from certain ones.

I double checked and "Cardone" is the correct spelling.

I have used the EMPI and cordone either is ok I really wouldn't worry. The spelling was correct for Cordone I think you meant EMPI though I was wrong for Cardone it is Cordone   Well at least all the axles I installed came out ok
