According to the article...the one found there "escaped". LOL! Must be fast!

Also, the shells are hard/sharp enough to blow a tire if you hit one.

I saw Romeo hit a squirrel and it flew about 20 feet straight up when it came off the rear tire. It didn't seem to phase the bike...

That reminds of that turtle that darted out in front of me when we were riding in Wisconsin some time back.

Those things were all over the island when I was on Okinawa.  I don't remember there being a big concern for meningitis, but they were pests.
