I had the pleasure of "demoing" the base model F6B yesterday and I came away impressed.  It was the red/black model.  I took it to a Bike Nite at QS&L in Pleasant Hills, PA (near Pittsburgh) and talked to people looking at the bike.  I was surprised that some of the Harley riders were also impressed with the style of the bike too.  It handles nice, has plenty of power, is only 28.5" off the ground, weights 842 pounds wet, and is alot easier to "quick" clean than my 1999 Interstate.  The short windshield is useless but a larger one would take away from the looks of the bike.  Would I pay the list price ($20K) for it - I don't think so?  Overall I really enjoyed the F6B.  Honda may have a winner.

Who in their right mind would trade their ultra low mileage 97 Valk for an F6B and then say they hate it???  No one I imagine.  Being he had two, selling one to get a different type of bike isn't doing without.... he probably kept the better of the two Valkyries I would hope.

I saw that F6B Carl had last night, and it is comfortable.  As for speed/torque and comfort being top notch.... it's basically a Gold Wing... so of course.  While the F6B is a nice bike, for the price I can't see why Honda stripped it down like that.  No chrome to speak of, and no center stand, passenger backrest cruise or heated grips I guess... unless you get the "deluxe".  I'd rather have a full blown Wing I guess, and the 2010 version with the proper looking bags to match the trunk... not the Victory(ish) ones of late.

I stopped by the dealer yesterday in Marietta to look at UTV's and got distracted by the 3 F6B's they had on the floor.  First one I've seen "in person" and I was favorably impressed.  Maybe, just maybe in 30 or 40 years!

At 20 G the F 6 B didn't impress me much cause Honda left off between 7 and 9 G worth of"stuff".  :2funny: RIDE SAFE.

Grumpy

Before you jump in and buy one, go to the f6b forums, they are having a multitude of problems with the paint. Soft clear coat seems to be the main complaint, wipe it  with a micro fiber towel and it scratches the paint.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you're in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

Swartzy

Wifey and I took one for a spin last week.....red and black one with the extras.  Drives smooth, rides smooth, fast and fun.........but nothing that jacked my slacks to the point of saying "Oooh Baby....I just have to have it".  I have yet to ride something that excites me as much as my valk........I would like to ride an interstate tho..................Been looking........but geez......mine's paid for.... :)

Before dropping that much on a striped f6b, I'd wait to at least get a look at the new Victory "Indian" under 20K  ;)

I sold my Valk to purchase the F6B and have no regrets...I did have to have me a set of Grumpys's truck stacks made for it but other that , oh yea...having a paint issue but feel it is fixed as well...love the F6...just sayin     John was sitting on it today trying to get Rita going as well...

I've been thinking of getting a new bike and the f6b is on top of the list? But the one I would want is $21000 list price I know they would go down some, but I can buy new Goldwing for the same money. I know I should just kept the Valk but I'm ready for a new ride. Also thinking about the FJR1300.

Looking at it as it's coming at you, I'd swear it's a Kymco scooter.

I rode an F6B back in April.

I was very impressed with its power and handling.

It needs a taller windshield, one that is adjustable on the fly would be really nice.

The 20k sticker is steep, I expect that they can be found for less, the question is "How much less" ?

Right now there isn't a lot of "Bling" available for them but I suspect that will change.

I wouldn't replace the Valk with one but I wouldn't mind adding one as a stable mate.

you should try to get a ride on the FJR, the only thing it has in commom with the F6B and the Wing is that they all have two wheels. FJR is a very different bike from the other two.
take personal responsibility and keep your word

Hey now,  I resent that remark right before last winter I just bought a Kymco s250 people scooter.
Nothing wrong with it and is 1/2 price of a similar equipped Honda scooter.    :2funny:

Kept my Valk, and we just finished 1400 miles on our new F6B "D" in black this thing is impressive, will run w/ my fast black 97, pulls a Kwick Kamp and gets 32 MPG doing it, The wife loves the seat and intercom, and its low enough she can ride it so the Valk will still get to go out and play(I still love to blow by those $30,000 Harleys)

So y'all are saying the Goldwing is a better deal(?) I agree, if I am ready for the FB6, I am ready for the Goldwing.  :cooldude:

At this point however, I am sticking with the Valk.  8)

I saw my first one just today.  Dropped a buddy off at the local dealer today to pick up his Wing after some service work and new tires and while there took a look around.

They had two black F6B's on the floor.  No other wings, just those two.  Sat on one of them.  I gotta tell ya....that seat is comfy.  It's like a lazyboy.....big, roomy and you can stretch back on it.

The rest of the bike......not so much.  Wasn't really too crazy about it.

They also had one of the new CB1100's on the floor....the new bike that looks like an old bike.  Loved the look.  Great looking bike......just didn't like sitting on it.  Tall bike.....and they wanted 20 grand for it.   :D

They did have some great deals on a bunch of good lookin' Yamaha Raiders they had.....12 grand or less for brand new ones.  If I was in the market for bar hopper I might have to take a look at one of those.  They're sharp IMO......and surprisingly, they fit me pretty good too.
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

Did that CB1100 have a lot of gold plating on it? The bike only MSRP's at 9999.00 :cooldude:

I'm sorry, your right......they wanted 10 grand for it.  My bad.   :(

EVerything else they had in there was 20 grand plus.....except for those Raiders at 12 grand.

They even had a bunch of Cam-ams in there.  One they had was for 29,999.  Ouch.   :o

I saw that C B 1100 at the dealer in west Plains Mo. IFIFIFIF I had some extra moola i'd consider one in a hear beat.  :cooldude: Looks like a cross between the old C B 500 thru C B 750.  ;) One of the salesmen is a RIDER and he told me you best have a grip on it when you twist that throttle W F O.  :coolsmiley: Ah to have a wee bit of my misspent youth back.  :2funny: RIDE SAFE.

I've seen a bunch of used 2-3 year old can am spyders for sale pretty darn cheap around 10-11 grand well below full new msrp with lower mileage at dealerships.  Doesn't seem they hold their value used too well would consider when 3 wheels is needed a used one around the 9-10 grand price.

Just wait a couple of years.  Honda will find a boatload of leftover 2013's and will sell them at 60% of current retail.

Agree, I don't know of one single person who has 20K+ to blow in today's world, let alone on a HD.  ;D

If they do, they are financing it thru the nose in order to pay to drive it.
