This guy delivered me and my two brothers, took my mom's thyroids out when I was about 5, and tried to save my dad from a fatal heart attack in Haskell, TX in 1971.  He lived at the end of our street and his daughter Emily, the one my age, was a cheer leader in high school.  Come to find out about 15 years ago, he is Governor Perry's father-in-law.  Perry married the older sister, Anita.

"Dr. Joe" passed away on BJ's birthday this year.  He was 92.  Perry and his son were pallbearers.

Sounds like a great guy, wish I'd had the chance to know him...

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

Trust me, he was.  I just realized after reading his obit, that he was a pilot in the Photo Reconnaissance Squadron.  My dad was an aerial photographer in the service.....  There is a chance that he flew with Dr. Joe.
Small Small world.
