I'm now watching a thing about obamacare. I can't wait for this mess to kick in. There will be fines if you don't meet their requirements. A 6'1" man [like me] should weigh 180#. 30# over is considered obese. I have no idea where they come up with these figures, but, I guess it doesn't make any difference. The amount of fine will be assessed on your amount of obeseness. Another neat little thing stuck in all those pages of regulations and requirements, a 50% increase in rates will be charged to those that smoke. Don't think there are the dreaded 'death panels' , sit down and read. Care will be rationed.

the new weights charts were put into effect during the clinton yrs backed by the UN and clinton, the old metro life charts where abandon. I was called a nut by people in my office when I was talking about it back then and how it will be used against americans. the un dictators one of which is living on pa ave want all of us starving, the men weak and poor.
they have had a plan in effect for decades, this is just one of them.

OK, we'll see. But, since it is now carved in stone we'll have to see if its enforced. I'm starting to see the local liberal obama supporters taking off the rose colored glasses and have given up the kool-aid. I can only hope its a trend that will continue.

I came off of Parris Island weighing 198 at 6'1" and there might have been a lb of fat left, but you wouldnt have lived if you had poked around looking, unless you were a hot female and that was just the beginning of a good night. Now I know that I am carrying a few pounds over that point, decades later I am banging around at about 255 with a tire but hardly obese. I have stopped eating white stuff and lost 14 lbs. There is no way on this earth that I am going to get to 180.

Obamacare has cost the health insurance for a family of 5 that is in scouts and cut my wifes hours by 10 and took away any chance of OT.

So far, it seems to be doing everything the conservative conspiracy types told us it would. Whoda thunk it? The main stream media didnt tell us the truth, wow, surprise, didnt see that coming.

Yep, and, I'm afraid it'll only get worse. I posted several months ago that friends, whose whole family voted for obama both times, son was let go from a medical manufacturing company because of obamacare with its 2.4% manufacturers tax. This fella is a good person with a wife, 2 young kids and new home. The family used to be pretty vocal about obama, but, they are now pretty quiet and beginning to change their minds.

My folks got married in '50 after they saved up $300 between them.  A short time later, my dad headed off to Paris Island for some exercise, camping and shooting.  My mom stayed home until he graduated.  When she arrived at Paris, she did not recognize him, and said he was a little scary looking.  He had been skin and bones (always was as a young man), but had added a bunch of bulk and muscle.  She also said he was saluting Army PFCs, because they had so much more pined on their uniforms than new Marines.

I did not come along for another couple years, but heard this story many times growing up.

I have the black and white picture of his graduating "honor platoon" framed on my wall.  I do miss him.
