CB Help

Getting ready for Sturgis and not sure if anyone else in my group will have CB capabilities, but since I have a  CB and just got my J&M headset installed, I want to use the CB, but have never used one before on a bike.  Please give me some insight on the best way to set it up for my ride.  I will be listening to radio/ipod while I'm riding, but no passenger.  Have messed with it a little, but pretty clueless if I'm doing anything right with it.  Thanks in advance!

Surely SOMEONE here can give me a little advice about how to set the CB up best when touring.....

Turn it on, and use 19 if running solo.  That is where the trucks are at, so will give you the most info.
Turn the squelch up just enough so that with no one talking, the noise just cuts out.  Then, when a signal comes in stronger, it will come back on, and you can hear it.  Will need adjusting as you travel.

I find most bikes run CH 1 or Ch 2 on the CB.  If you're using a J&M 2003CB setup, I have found that using low power setting is best when chatting with fellow bikers within 1/4 mile or so of each other (riding together).  Otherwise, it sounds over-modulated when using high power.
The CB will interrupt the music, juke radio, etc. if someone keys up and breaks the squelch so it will not take too much trial/error to determine how much squelch is needed to keep from being bombarded with squelch breaking junk. 
I LOVE my cb and it sure makes traveling with a group or a buddy easier...I always misinterpret handsignals...well, all but maybe one or two...
