99 Interstate Project Completed

It took awhile to complete this project, but it was completed this past Saturday with the help of my friends from the DFW VRCC at a wrench party that I had at my house. Here is a picture of the 99 Interstate the day I bought it:



Here is the 99 Interstate as it sat in my garage this past Saturday morning. Radiator was off the bike and I had a small nail in the rear tire.



Project 99 Interstate completed by the end of the day on Saturday with the help of my friends. I think it looks pretty good.

How in the world did you get a nice looking I/S for 3 grand?

My near stock 01 black I/S looked very similar except for a few goodies added on, not much and paid 8K for it 5 years ago but had only 14.5K for mileage. 

Can you see out of the darker windshield at night or do you just look above it since is shortened?

I like the supervalk look as long as you can switch back to the rear seat and trunk with ease somewhat say 30-40 minutes tops.

Good job,  what color paint is that and pretty sure you had a pro paint it?

Looks great!  The rear fender is cleaner than most supervalks I've seen.

Just completed the project on Saturday and I don't have current tags and I need an inspection. I haven't ridden at night yet with that windshield, but I suspect that I will just look over it since it's a shorty. I have the trunk and need to convert the rails so that I can quickly install and remove it at will. Oh, I bought the Interstate from a Harley friend of mine that didn't know what he had. I had a friend of mine that owns two valks and owns a paint and body shop paint my tins. I'm happy with the way it turned out. Paint is Chrysler Metallic Silver.
