We have no privacy whatsoever and now I just read this. They have been chipping away for years, especially since 2001 and now I'm seeing dust!

I just read this on another site.  frightening.  this administration doesn't have a good record on 1st and 2nd amendment.  i'm not a basher and support some policy from both sides, but this is not good.  I make some calls to Europe and have likely had a record made.   >:(

"Under the Bush administration, officials in security agencies had disclosed to reporters the large-scale collection of call records data by the NSA, but this is the first time significant and top-secret documents have revealed the continuation of the practice on a massive scale under President Obama"

And yet, they still keep voting for Obama and will vote for the Hilldabeast in droves.....all the while blaiming Bush for everything for decades to come.   :uglystupid2:

There is no hiding, there is no anonimity, there is no privacy-we are being watched.
I have to wonder why? I do not buy that it is needed for national security.
Cameras everywhere, gps locators, phone tracking, car tracking, credit card purchase tracking-it's all here and it will never be taken away.
More erosion of our rights and few even realize.
Bougtht some ammo a month or so ago? You aren't the only one who knows.

This is both sad and scary! They have had satellites over 20 years ago that could see what brand of cigs you had in your pocket, so it would scare us to death just to know what they have today!!

Ricoman, you beat me to it bc I was going to mention the newer vehicles can be tracked. I think I'll find me an old 57 Chevy and a CB!!  :2funny:

Talk about vehicles being tracked ?  A fella I know has a history of fooling around on his wife. She got fed up one fine day and decided to call On-Star. They told her exactly where the car was. She then went to the motel and met them when they came out. I thought that was great !

We just have to get back to using two tin cans tied together with a string to make our calls.   :2funny:

Sadly it is official.   We now live in a police state worse than the old time USSR.   Our founding fathers would not believe all the protections they put in the Constitution would be so abused.  We need a serious housecleaning in our nations capital.  A few more years of Hussiens ilk and there will be no personal freedoms.

today? they have drone technology that can record video at high resolution of square miles from 17,000 feet. and track objects as small as birds. they can record terraquads of data and store it for review later.

Boy's and Girl's, this is not new, this has been going on for a really long time. I thought everybody was aware that this was going on ------if you make a call or receive a call---it is recorded and placed in a vault in Maryland for future reference ...THEY know who you are and where you live, sooooo they can come and get you when they want to. white coats or not ---------------GOD BLESS----- :crazy2: :2funny:

yep, what Britman said. The Patriot Act was never intended to 'explode' like it has under this administration.

i have no problem with the phone records, all they track or keep track of are the numbers that are called, if someone calls a suspected terriost then they watch them,,

This is another example of poor legislation - Patriot Act - run amok. Proof that once you open the door it becomes almost impossible to close it.

• Top secret PRISM program claims direct access to servers of firms including Google, Facebook and Apple
• Companies deny any knowledge of program in operation since 2007
A slide depicting the top-secret PRISM program

The National Security Agency has obtained direct access to the systems of Google, Facebook, Apple and other US internet giants, according to a top secret document obtained by the Guardian.

The NSA access is part of a previously undisclosed program called PRISM, which allows officials to collect material including search history, the content of emails, file transfers and live chats, the document says.

The Guardian has verified the authenticity of the document, a 41-slide PowerPoint presentation – classified as top secret with no distribution to foreign allies – which was apparently used to train intelligence operatives on the capabilities of the program. The document claims "collection directly from the servers" of major US service providers.

Although the presentation claims the program is run with the assistance of the companies, all those who responded to a Guardian request for comment on Thursday denied knowledge of any such program.

In a statement, Google said: "Google cares deeply about the security of our users' data. We disclose user data to government in accordance with the law, and we review all such requests carefully. From time to time, people allege that we have created a government 'back door' into our systems, but Google does not have a back door for the government to access private user data."

Several senior tech executives insisted that they had no knowledge of PRISM or of any similar scheme. They said they would never have been involved in such a program. "If they are doing this, they are doing it without our knowledge," one said.

An Apple spokesman said it had "never heard" of PRISM.

The NSA access was enabled by changes to US surveillance law introduced under President Bush and renewed under Obama in December 2012.
