I wonder what was special about this woman other than she is now distantly related to our first lady. And, a first lady that apparently doesn't want anyone knowing about her family history. It was a common practice for slave owners to have their way with their property at that time.
Regardless of who the stone was for, I don't like the idea of someone damaging it either. If people didn't like it then they just need to push for its proper removal. But, I have a feeling that those responsible for the damage have no idea who the stone was set there for or what it meant.

The over riding theme of the comments (while some are quite humorous) is hatred on both sides.  Obammy supporters hate all the obammy haters, because they just can't stand the fact that a black man is POTUS.  I don't think 5% of the obammy haters care that a black man is POTUS, they care that THIS (half)black man is POTUS.  There are plenty of blacks I would vote for, some are female.  I can tell you this, there are many white men I would not vote for, and a least 3 white females I would never vote for if they were running for dog catcher.

What amazes  me more than the hatred on both sides, is the narrow mindedness and refusal to accept the fact that most of the people in this country have gotten over the race issue, and that the character of a candidate and the potential benefit they can be to our once great country, is more a factor than race in deciding who to vote for.  The current batch of professional liers seem to get a free pass by many, because they are stickin' it to the TeaBaggers.

It's really sad, but I enjoyed the hell out of reading those comments!
