I'd love to have this car. Best restoration I've ever seen but I can't handle the price tag. Scroll to the bottom to see the price (lots of detailed pic to see on the way down).

That is a beautiful restoration. The price reflects the time taken to scrounge the correct parts, clean them up and install. That's impressive.
I really like the post because it takes me back to the first car that I was allowed to drive legally. My dads 63 bug. He had a 57 bug before that. My mom had a square back VW in about 73 or 74.
A few years ago all we ever did with them was cut them up and build sand rails with the running gear.
Thanks for the post

Very similar to my first car..... a '62 Karmann Ghia.

It was fun, but no heat whatsoever (in MI).  45Hp was unimpressive.  Spare tire air pushed the windshield washer, and oh yeah, 6-volt system.  Trying to get lucky at the drive in required a good deal of flexibility and enthusiasm.   ;D

I don't want another one.

Sixty three grand?!?  That's a veeery nice resto.....but 63 grand?

I remember when ya could get a brand new bug....with auto-stick....and AIR for $1799.00 brand new off the showroom floor.
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
