Hardly a good comparison, his actions are far from the intent of freedom of speech. Whereas the ability to comment on our leaders falls well within the definition. All laws have a written record that explains in detail the "legislative intent" which is something that is often forgotten or overlooked by those that pass judgement. That doesn't change my opinion of this waste of a human being, or the other one currently occupying gov't. housing on Pennsylvania Ave.

But this is what freedom is about.  this is what our country should stand up for.  that we are free enough to allow a..holes to be able to express themselves without the government coming in to arrest them, persecute them or execute them for expressing themselves with controversy.

Closed minded is a wrong choice of words and reflects actually being closed minded. Quite a few here were in the military, have seen men die on the battle field. Have had lives changed because of this and some who went to Nam didnt even have the good fortune to make the service to their country a honored thing. We agree to a certain extent.   In reference to our constitution, the 2nd Amendment guarantees the 1st and protects all the others.   I personally don't agree with the courts that trashing the American flag should be included as a Freedom of Speech protection but, I've been over ruled.   In that I am always trying to be a law abiding citizen, I am forced to allow this to occur.   That doesn't mean I have to like it.   Having said that, I can also exercise my freedom of speech and do everything within my ability to ensure that this .............. jerk sees and feels the error of his ways.

In reference to the Africa remark, well that is out of line.   But, if it was "legal", I can assure you, he would no longer reside with in the boundaries of the US.   I don't really care where he goes but he doesn't deserve to breath the free air our forefathers, fathers, brothers, uncles and son's have fought to defend.

Unfortunately, many young folks today, have never been taught to respect the symbols of our great country, and what they stand for.  They learned from the media (films and television) to respect POS's like this and our current POTUS because they are living large.  They don't see the decline in values and character that results from idolizing these poor excuses for human beings, to them their behavior is acceptable.  I'm sure many of his admirers have never had a strong authority figure in their lives and are there fore suseptable to the influence of the media and poor/disrespectful behavior.

I'm sure we'll see lil wayne, doing a command performance in the White House in the near future.

Personally I know what you are saying but it must have been a clear message that he stepped over the line and would suffer fallout in some way. It's ironic how many people will get a new found appreciation for the Constitution and L W's 1st amendment privileges and say, "he's an artist and we shouldn't interfere with his creative expressions."

But then, get defensive when someone suggests, "he should be sent back to Afrika."

Lil Wayne is an entertainer with a large following of impressionable young people.  I wish entertainers would control themselves in a similar manner as professional athletes 'mostly' do.  Sports figures have their leagues overseeing their conduct and will impose tough sanctions against them for actions like this.

All that entertainers have to oversee their irresponsible actions is, people turning against them and not buying their 'music.'  Not that I'd ever spend a dime on any of the derogatory, hateful noises that he puts out under the label of rap music.

He's not on new ground here, Madonna and others have been doing disgusting displays for a long time, mostly for the notoriety.  Kymbo is right, Lil Wayne is getting free publicity from all stir he's causing, and keeping with punk gangster image, I'll bet he's alright with that.
