I've been on a boat kick today. I know some of you fellas probably have em! So show the pics!

I''l start with mine:

24 foot Carolina Skiff with 12 built in rod holders and a 35 gallon live bait tank.Top with full curtains for winter fishing... It takes one part of my entire garage and is covered in motorcycle gear... I keep telling myself I'm going to start fishing again then I just go for a ride

I don't have a boat any longer, but the last one I had was a 1985 25ft McGregor.

The day I sold it, it was one of the 2nd most happiest days of my life.  

I don't have any pics of that boat, but it was idential to this one in every way....even the colors.....

Grew up on an island in MI on Lake Erie.  Family had several (mainly sail, but couple power), friends had several.  Brother ran small hydros and tunnelhulls. Ended up in Sodom on the Potomac, a mudhole river.  Lots of boaters, but not my kind of water.  Friend has a 42' ChrisCraft condo on the water; not miles per gallon, it's gallons per hour. 

In retirement, dreaming of one of these.

I grew up on Long Island'Island's North Shore. In high school I lived on a 50 ft Elco built in 1929. I've owned 4 speedboats and 2 sailboats in my life. All I have left is a 10' Avon inflatable. Sorry, no pics to post.

I am Mr Lowtech & I haven't a clue how to post pictures here.  My wife & dog & I live on a '94 Hunter Legend 37.5 (sailboat) with an Avon 310 RIB tender.  We are always broke because of the constant maint. & upgrades required, but I love the life! Gary

Pearson 26 (sailboat), numerous fishing boats, 43' house boat, just to name a few, Love boats, my dream was to retire on a 36 foot single engine trawler and putt putt around the ICW and in and out of the Islands.

I had a 14ft fiberglass Jet Boat back in the mid 90's.  It was fun and fairly easy to maintain and service.  But, ultimately, like most boats, it ended up being a "hole in the water one pours money into".

The two happiest days in a boat owners life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it.  Been there, done that.

The largest of our family sailers was the Pearson Electra; 22.5', but a stout midget ocean racing class boat.  Across Lake Erie in some tremendous storms a number of times.  I spent high school and undergrad crew dogging on all kinds of sailing boats during summer racing season; mostly a Hinkley 38 and Viking 28.

Also got a chance to sail on a 3/5 copy of the Blue Nose Schooner (52' on deck, 38' waterline, and 58' overall with bowsprit, two masted, gaf rigged, 7 sails.... across Lake Erie, and later out of Key West... full of girls in bikinis and beer).  No picture, this is the full size boat.

Not the one I had, but this one looks just like it. 1997 (I think) Polaris SL780. Loved that thing, but after a few years found I was using it more and more as a shelf in my garage and less and less as a crotch rocket on the water.



Sold it to buy my first serious saltwater reef aquarium back in 2000.

Sold it to a good friend of mine, showed him how to put it in the water in the summer of 2000, he took it home, parked it in his back yard, and it hasn't budged since.

Me, beside my 20' Mako.  Have had it on the ocean here in Massachusetts many times.  Has a 150 Evinrude and also have a 175 Ev backup motor for it.  Nice boat for fishing and just enjoying... but costly as everyone has mentioned.
