in thinking my petcock needs replacing I'm seeing a lot of mention on the Pingel.  So I searched on Amazon and found this one.  I don't understand how it hooks up and works based on the photo.  Any layman explanation?  Do I just need the Pingel as pictured or are there secondary pieces (tubes etc) that you need to get?  If so, what would I search for to find those to order.

Thanks.

The only thing you need is a cap for the vacuum port on the intake manifold. The Pingle does not use a vacuum activation like the Honda one does. When you shut off the bike, you will need to shut off the fuel manually. There are many threads on the Pingle in the archives, just go to the search at the top of the tech page and type in pingle. many hours of reading! :cooldude:

John call me. I converted my stock valve years ago. Now fully manual and no diaphram or vacuum used.  Easy to do and still look stock and easy to get to.

I have that Pingel and love it!  It didnt take long to incorporate the left hand on the valve while the right hand is on the key.  Feels weird to do one without the other now.

If I put the pingel and a Dan-Marc would it still be necessary to shut off the pingel each time?

I think the electric shut off is all the off youd need, so no, you wouldnt need to......I think thats the whole point to the Dan Mark
