Anyone know this guy ? He is a billionaire investor that donated heavily to obama. Well, he is now actively lobbying obama and other congressmen against the Keystone  pipeline. Why ? He is phony environmentalist saying how damaging the pipeline will be. But, he is heavily investing on the Canadian pipeline to the west coast. Why ? He is banking [ literally] that the obama followers will not allow the Keystone to be built, so, he can make billions off the oil the Canadians will then pump through their pipeline and then sell to the Chinese. This guy is more of a con artist than gore.

Do you really think it makes any difference whether it goes to the west coast or gulf coast.....it will go on the world market and not do the US any good except for a short job spike and then taper off to a minimum. You can bash one party or the other....both have their share of baggage.......but, the real fools in this mess is the American people keep electing the same marginal idiots into office over and over......we deserve the mediocrity we get.

PS.....I just posted this to seem my new avatar..... :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

Except, the facts show otherwise.

For example, oil prices are expected to fall to $65 to $75 per barrel by 2016 because of an 11% decrease in US consumption and a 30% increase in production since 2008.

Fracking is alive and well, and will continue to be with support from the Obama administration

These articles aren't from some "lib" website, they come from a compilation of petroleum industry articles.

The Keystone pipeline (and its source of hydrocarbons) is a polluting mess and rightly deserves to be cancelled.  It's about the profit for a few against the environment for the many.  There are a lot of alternatives to Keystone.

It's interesting how you pick and choose your facts to support your point view.....other groups postulate a 85 dollar price is also likely, just some 10 bucks below the current price.  Slanting your journalism in this manner contaminates the rest of the comments to meaningless froth.

But,  perhaps you do know the world population will grow by some 100% in the next 30 years, If the standard of living worldwide for the new folks remains at our present comparable level, there will be a 100% increased demand on the worlds natural resources,,,,,and its coming from somewhere....so, go stand in line at the local filling station and wait for that cheap oil to give you $1.00 gasoline to fill your tank with.

You do know fracking is not a new process in the oil patches and not an invention of the obama admin.....been around 50-60 years that I know of .....

Not sure why you think the Keystone pipeline is so evil and the existing pipeline infrastructure is not????. Take a look at this url and the existing pipeline grid that already exists:

Perhaps there are better alternatives than Keystone, but I have heard it said, "be careful what you wish for".  And I really have no strong feeling about that pipeline.....can't say it is much different than the thousands of miles of line already laid across the country.

In case you didn't notice it, it is the profits for a few that makes jobs for the many.....that's capitalism and what makes our country tick. One proposal (from Agenda 21) would make great strides in protecting our environment, it would have us live and work in very high density living spaces so we would not need a car, no resource guzzling public transportation, would not have to  roam more than a few blocks to have everything we need to live.........like I said, be careful what you wish for......

Yep, many just refuse to believe there are 1,000s of miles of trouble-free pipeline in this country and that the Keystone pipeline is actually potentially better for the environment than shipping that oil to China.
I just happen to believe we should be drilling more on our soil, and not just on private land as we are now. The present admin refuses to renew public land drilling contracts. We also could use a couple more refineries.
Fracking. This has been a boon to counties and states that are doing it. I guess there are some issues in the west due to 100 year old drilling laws. Apparently the politicos are not willing to change the laws. Natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel we have and the trucking and construction companies that have been converting their equipment to natural gas say it is helping their business. In this neck of the woods there have been serious uproars over fracking and many bans on it. All the complaints of contaminated wells I've looked into and have heard about have been proven false. The wells have had natural gas in them long before the fracking started. Natural gas really isn't harmful in well water, people in this area have dealt with it for 100 years with no ill effects. The NYS DEC had studied Fracking and has released a report stating the new fracking procedure is safe.
The libs keep saying we need a new fuel source. I happen to agree, but, what will it be ? I seriously doubt it'll be sun, wind or algae for several decades. I happen to believe it'll be hydrogen, but, that'll still take a couple decades.
So, some don't seem to realize that we still need something until those fuel sources are practical. What to do ? I say drill baby drill !
Sorry for the long rant. I'll get off the soap box now.
