I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

I worked for a prominent automotive supplier before going on SSD. They decided to build a factory in China at he beginning of 2007; the factory was completed in six weeks. All of this from a greenfield area to fully operational in six weeks.

This was a new facility to supply both the global OEM's and the aftermarket. My boss was sent there to oversee the construction as he spoke a Chinese dialect. He said they worked 24 hrs. a day, seven days a week. He said that the majority of the labor was "prison labor", except for electrical and data communications.

He also quit the company after returning home as he said that there where so many short cuts taken that the factory would collapse and kill literally hundreds of workers.

At least they kicked the bucket with a smile on their face and went out with a near bang.

Our work imports about 95% of all their non food merchandies from China which is now about 75% of the entire business with 25% or so food products.  Why anyone would buy a 25 cent item for 5 bucks is beyond me!  I doubt even 1% of our non food product is made in the USA which is totally sad.  At least PO's are not written in Chinese anymore for gosh sakes!
