the first week is done, I don't know how it's going other then the soundbites I've heard. from what I've heard the prosecutors have proven murder 2 yet, unless they have some real good evidence/witnesses there should be an aquittal.

the theory is, the prosecutors had to charge Z with something so they went for an unprovable charge of murder 2 just to keep the race baiters calm.  it's a stupid theory, especially when most prosecutors are elected officials and if the lose too much it relflects badly on their record.

the lib board has a 40+ page thread started by an invited lawyer, the ignorance on display has been breathe taking. Z stalked, and murdered M in cold blood. martin was fearful, so that's why he ran away (but if he was fearful why did he return and face his "stalker"?) the injuries to Z's head was photoshopped, or self inflicted. one said "all the prosecution has to do is poke holes in Zimmermans self defense claim" uhh no! the prosecution has to PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that Z got out of his truck to kill that as yet unidentified minor. fascinating

When Zimmerman is acquitted, I figure all the community activists will march, declaring that the creepy-ass-crackers on the jury are just being racist.

I love a good conspiracy theory. But, it appears to me that the prosecution has already performed Zimmerman's attorney's job.

I liked the testimony that 'creepy-ass cracker' isn't a racist term.  That cracked me up.

I haven't been paying all that much attention to it myself, but just from the sidelines and soundbites, it appears to me that the prosecution's star witness has been proven to be a liar and dumber than a box of rocks.......and wasn't there.  She's no eye witness.

The defense's star witness however was there and is an eye witness and saw Travon on top of Zimmerman whalin' on him from his back door.

Sounds like a done deal to me.  But what do I know, I'm just another crazy-ass white cracker.

I hate to break it to ya, but he was supposed to be a prosecution witness.

It ain't over yet.  If the state wants to win, they need to get beyond the nuts and bolts of the actual confrontation and concentrate on, "why did Zimmerman leave the house with a gun, unless he wanted to confront someone."  That's the only theory I can think of, that might gain sympathy from the jury.

I don't think the prosecution has rested yet, so that WAS NOT a defense witness.  :o :o

Remember at first it was accepted that it was self defense untill the liberal media started their misrepresentations and got the black community all stirred up.  Then some DA decided here is a venue that I can make a big national name for myself, mebby even shoo meself into a higher political office.  What difference does it make if it was self defense.  I can make this work for me, it may even possibly get me into the house or senate to feed at the trough with the rest of the liars.  I will fit right in.  So it began.

I advanced that theory as soon as I heard they charged him with murder 2. I see your point about the competitiveness of lawyers, but they also do what they're told. It's quite plausible.

Because this witness was going to decimate to state's case, it was strategic to call him for the prosecution and take their lumps.  If they waited and let defense call the witness, it looks like they were trying to hide his testimony.  Just trial strategy.

the other half of the theory goes that they don't want to send an innocent man to prison, so set the charge up for failure because florida is an all or nothing state. I'm not a big believer in most WAG theories  :cooldude:

What does 'all or nothing mean' ?

the way I've heard it he can't be charged with a lesser crime if found not guilty/innocent.... but don't take my word on it.

IANAL but from my understanding it means that since he's been charged with 2nd degree murder, he can ONLY be found guilty of second degree murder, the jury doesn't have the option to try him of a lesser crime such as involuntary manslaughter.

I leave the house everyday without looking to confront someone. Maybe he was just wanting to protect himself if someone attacked him. My feelings are, he was lucky to have a gun because it could have been his life instead of travons.
