He was the home invader who mercilessly beat down a woman in her own house.  She did not even make a sound while he was doing it, because it would have upset a young daughter seated just a few feet away.  The child might would have cried out, thus redirecting the wrath of that animal upon her, instead.

How often does this happen, but no national coverage is given because the victims didn't happen to have a nanny cam running in the back ground?

OK, this one's caught.  He will be charged with attempted murder, child endangerment, home invasion and maybe a few other charges.  He deserves to be executed, or at least locked up forever.  My bet:  he'll be back on the streets in 10 years.

Good, glad he was caught. Great police work. I feel for that woman, she'll never get over that. But, I'd be willing to bet that if she was an anti-gunner she is now no longer one and probably owns one by now. I think it would have been nice to have watched that video while she gave him a lethal dose of lead poisoning by sticking about 3 in his chest and eliminating the need for a costly trial and imprisonment.

It occurred in NY! Probably one of the worst states to try and get a maximum Penalty. I am sure he will get 20 years and be out in 10 years. He was, of course, in and out of jail several times. In fact, he had only been out a short time. Our legal system, like our political system, is upside down!!!!!

The problem is, just stating facts will label one a racist in some places. Actually in many places. You know, there are a lot of people that just don't like hearing the facts.

While I agree, I like to look at the character of a person, the facts are the facts.
This problem is hitting our little town hard. Things are getting bad. This state has gone from the 'Empire' state to the 'welfare' state. We are even #4 in illegal immigrants [ mexicans].  We have always had some blacks, most good some bad. We have always had a fair number of mexicans due to the nature of the local agriculture. Most have been good. But, now the numbers are increasing drastically and the problems are increasing with them.
Am I racist ? Never felt I was. Maybe that is changing, and, there is a good reason for it. After-all, when Bill Cosby even rants about what is happening then something has  gone wrong.

Back when we were practicing "ducking and covering" to protect us from the inevitable nuclear discharges that the commies were going to rain down on us, I had already come up with the idea that a good stiff nuclear exchange would be in everyone's best interest. It might have been accomplished with no firearm, but the dude was large, and both the baby and the cop were at risk in a physical take down, with him holding a knife to the child.  

I'm thinking a tazer grounds/zaps the held child (maybe worse than the perp) and might have caused him to jerk and cut her, even unintentionally.

That looks like a clean and lawful take down to me.

Watching the whole tape with sound would tell us more.

Anyone who grabs a child and threatens it with a weapon deserves to die right there, period. No need for a discussion.  

Any history of mental illness is irrelevant to the issue of the take down.   He offered a lethal threat, and got lethal force to stop him.   It might be relevant to how we handle mental illness in this country (see recent school shootings). 

Had this been a civilian, there'd probably be another media/socialist outcry about guns being the guilty party.... or would it be race?

there was a posting where a female EMT wouldn't help a pregnant woman, and the pregnant woman later died.  the EMT was a black woman, and i made the comment where i thought the pregnant woman was white, BOY DID I CATCH HELL FOR THAT!!  i was labeled a bigot and a racist, which i find funny 'cause in reality, people DO make choices on who they're going to "help" based on how they "look", and I've found that people that act holier than thow, are usually the ones that help out the least.

i understand your frustration of seeing our prisons overflowing with people of "color", but really, you need to visit a prison once and you'll see that for the most part it's filled with people that have made "bad" choices, and if  any one of us were put into the life that they lived, we'd probably make the same bad choices as well, regardless of race.  but you know, they're all innocent!!
