My I/S is still down do to being too lazy to hunt for pukeing gasoline, so I'm still riding the KLR & reading their board. They were discussing the thought that MC tires(on the front) would not hydroplane(due to the canoe shape of the footprint) but that a CT could. any thoughts on that? Don't think the constant correcting of the front end would be too positive with the tire on top of the water....

No one runs a car tire on the front, except maybe sidehacks or peculiar trikes.

Car tires on the back of a heavy tourer are WAY better in the wet, and extreme wet (like 4 inches deep) than any bike tire could ever hope to be. That relatively flat all-weather CT profile with rain grooves works as advertised.  Corners in the wet better too... much more confidence.
