Eric & Barry at Moss Gun & Pawn (gun gripes on youtube) are of the opinion ammo should return to nearly normal by summer's end.  Of course barring any more grabbers BS moves.  They are trying to put add'l taxes on ammo and restrict purchases via requiring purchasing permits and volume limits in several states.  Of course that will have ZERO effect on criminals - only hurt the good guys / legal shooters community.  Which is what the libernazis really want.

Finally got some 22LR.  Asked when Big5's Sports next shipment was coming in - the guy said Mon morning - be here a half hour before opening.  Got there 45 min before - there was alrady a line - all waiting for 22LR except one for 9mm.  3 bricks and 7 100 paks coming in, and I'm 3rd in line.  Got one brick of 333 and 2 boxes of 100.  Dialed in my lasermax on the 10-22, and the red dot optic for zero at 60 yds - and now will continue to hoard the rest.  Sweet rifle but I may put the red dot on something else - like the tactical 12ga - and put a scope on the 10-22.  Saw a video on youtube of a guy shooting it out to 400 yds.  The rifle is capable of far greater accuracy than the red dot can deliver.

still haven't seen much 22lr in my area, scored some pistol ammo last week. bought 300 rounds, the stock gal was just closing up the case, that's right didn't even have to wait in line

Still tight though, I need 30 carbine and it is hit and miss at the good gunshop near me. Components are still slim. Thurs I have to make a 140 mi round trip just to get 168gr match bullets. The good thing is: it is mostly 2 lane, what I need to get will fit in a saddle bag, they are only open till 4 so I had to take a 1/2 day off work, it is supposed to be sunny and a bit cooler. Fat gurl gets to roll a little, so anyone along 422 between Butler and Ebensburg, if you see a maroon and cream Thurs, wave.

Mark, you are so right...  It's been a while, due to the fact that ya can't find any .22Lr, but with the 10/22 my son and I built, he can cover all 10 holes with a dime, at 100 yards...  Green river barrell, custom laminated thumb hole stock (that we worked on for a month, shaping, sanding, shaping, sanding...), some trigger work, and a pretty cheap scope...  Lotsa fun

Components? With the insanity at the moment, you have to be willing to pay, if you can find it. I would guess that as the ammo comes back so will components. If Midway has them in, then buy them with the dies to save shipping.

Getting primers shipped will bend you over in hazmat charges so getting local is a better deal. Unless you can find a bunch of neighbors to go in and a place that will sell you 10,000 at a time.

My LGS (local gun store) is good price wise on powder and have had a good selection throughout the sillyness. Bullets and primers are hit and miss, mostly miss on what I want in bullets. .224 are just plain not around and .308 match or oddball (like 220 round nose) are here and there.

Definitely needs trigger work.  Just measured it at 7.2 lbs.  And with some creep.  However great potential, especially with that hammer-forged barrel.  However it's not the bull barrel, this is supposed to be the carbine - but it's 18.5, not 16 so WTF.  The one with the black synthetic stock and LaserMax. I'll put a quality scope on it and have the trigger worked over and see if that gives me MOA or better.

On the bigger stuff -  I haven't reloaded in years.  Plan to resume but not until components are available again.  I still have some supplies but they are pretty old on the shelf.  And not the right stuff for the new calibers I want to work on.

Ammo's loosening up but so are guns... Saw AR15's under $700 at the local gun show 2 weekends ago, and picked up TWO AR15 stripped lowers for $89 total... (Polymer, but I'm okay with that)

I actually managed to score three boxes of .40S&W the other day and three boxes of 7.62X39 Russian (got lucky at Wal Mart). I'm still up to my ears in several thousand rounds of .22LR and a couple thousand rounds of 5.56NATO but once I get my suppressor I plan on chewing through that like it was bacon at a buffet. Now if only these jackasses would stop hoarding ammo things might get back to reasonable levels of availability.

And yes, guns are getting better. I've been told that my AUG and SGL-31 should be here soon.

thats why there was plenty of ammo,, the guns are restricted but the ammo is not..why buy ammo you cant shoot?

Yeah, I think things are getting a little better too. I bought 1000 rounds of 9mm pmc 115gr fmj from a link someone posted here recently. My cost with shipping worked out to be $21.68 per box of 50. Way steep compared to the pre obummer days but at least I've got some 9mm now.

It reduced my trigger pull to around 2.5 lbs and the more conventional bolt release is nice too. I also added a magazine lever to make dropping the mag easier. One of these days I'll drill and tap the trigger (more likely trigger guard) for a trigger over travel stop bolt.

I can't ever remember ammo being so hard to come by, a combo of a few factors not the least being hoarding. another factor would be the gubmint buying a billion rounds.

Never. I'm 56 years old and have been buying ammo since I was 11. (no age restriction laws then) I used to buy 100 rounds of .22LR for a buck. Never would have dreamed there would come a time when every hardware store in town didn't have a large stock of 22LR.
