Even the best brakes coupled with great reaction time can't miss stupid when it's thrown into your face like that.
And this is where I'm supposed to say, "glad the rider's ok", so consider it said but I can't say a break from the saddle won't do him some good.

I didn't see any brake lights on the bike?   Why was the cage recording?  There must have been some other involvement between these two before that video shows....

Yep... he proved bikes can easily out-brake cars.   Dimwit.

Also saw no brake light.

Patrick

Yep, no brake lights. Even though it appears something lead up to that incident, the rider was pretty stupid.

The rider of the bike was shining on the car driver after he passes him.  :uglystupid2: I saw no brake lights looks like deaccel off the throttle only that cannot be easy for cage driver. But he should have passed him not nearly killed him.

Sure looks like some road rage that may have been leading up to it long before hand. I didn't see any break lights neither, however it appears with the emotions that were going on I would say there wasn't a good way to avoid what was about to happen. Most likely a bunch of stupid moves. Recording driving is getting to be very common thing now.

Bike has a race tail- no brake lights or turn signals.  Also no license plate.

I run a car DVR all the time.  It's becoming more common in North America and almost mandatory in Russia (where all the crash compilations come from)  :)

The whole involvement looks like a squid annoyed that the dude is parked in the left lane, swoops down on him, then stupidity and road rage ensue.

Varmintmist

Looked more like he was waving to his buddy to get moving, then dropped off the throttle after he did.
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

One less idiot on the road doing stupid stuff.  I try to keep a safe distance from riders in front, but some riders whether cycle or lately being a vehicle,  like to tailgate others on the road way less than 3 second following distance at say 60 mph.  So many times I have seen one cage tailgating another cage within mere say 10-15 feet behind doing 60 mph, bunch of idiots, one tape of the brake for whatever reason and bammoo!

I could be wrong (wont be the first time) but watching the other traffic and the immovable objects along the road it looked like the car sped up to rear end the bike there at the end...

Black Pearl's Captain

Brake lights at 12 seconds and off just before he got hit. LED's up on the top of tail.
