PC help Microsoft Vista and watching a MOV file

I ahve a video file named IMG 7190 I'm TRYING  to view.

Windows Media Center opens when I click the file but then I can't "see" it in the folder I put it in.

IMG files are usually not Video files. They are Pictures. But I would try to download the video player VLC. It has a little Cone Icon. Plays almost any video without issues.

My Bad. Just looked and My IPhone has IMG files that are video... LOL Still load VLC Player and it will probably play the file.

If you rt click on the img file and go to properties it will show you what kind of file it is. From that point you should be able to choose a program to open it based on what kind of file it is. Also if you again rt click on the file and go down the menu options you will see, open with, select  a different program to open it. Sometimes Windows doesn't classify the file correctly with the correct program to open it. Also depending on what kind of file it is sometimes a saved file will actually store at 2 spots when you saved it. Copying a browser page usually does this then you have to click on the right file and that reads the source file. MOV is not opened in windows but with QuickTime player. media player cannot play that kind of file. If you dont have quick time its free just download it and follow the instructions in selecting the correct program to open it. Like Dave said VLC is a good all purpose player.

.mov are a quicktime format. Just dl and install quicktime and you will watch the movie with no issues. Yes, its free.
