looking forward to tomorrow, took the day off and the wife, well it's a furlough day, thanks sequester :coolsmiley: Actually my wife has Monday off too. flexible furlough days gives her a four day weekend. But they're coming to an end sooner than expected. She got the news they've reduced the number of furlough days. She was rather liking the four day work weeks. :coolsmiley:

You do realize that you're gonna ruin your reputation hang'n with that Fozzle character, don't ya?  ;)

Was supposed to get off at 9:15 this evening and had intended to come by Ground Zero to see you folks but, as usual when I want out of there, something stops me.   A little late now and I'm working the day shift tomorrow but, I'll see you directly after getting off work tomorrow.

Excellent!   Glad you made it.   There should be a couple of bikes in the parking lot with Michigan tags and maybe one or two from Indiana and another from Kentucky already there.   Hard to say, have you checked the parking lot?   Ask at the front desk for anyone with the Valkyrie Group.

Edited: With the weather being what it is, it's really hard to predict who will or won't be coming.

BTW, for those of you that arrived early, you could take that Buffalo Trace Distillery tour or for a better adventure, ride down to Loretto, Kentucky for the Maker's Mark Distillery Tour, great roads to ride and a great tour.

:'( well it is unfortunate ,but it's not looking good. >:( I put new Avon's on my bike a couple of weeks ago and as soon as I rode off away from the shop,I felt a really weird warble or fish tail at highway speeds mainly above 75. I took the day off and brought it up to the shop that mounted tires and the owner test rode it and said he wouldn't ride it anywhere like that. Took the tire off and we believe its the new front Avon. Can't get another here or in Louisville He doesn't want me riding it. Damn. Could get a Bridgestone but he doesn't like mixing and I'm not too  sure about it either.Anyways I'd be buying thst tire I think at a high price . Damn. He has to order the tire.

The guy in the orange T will not make it. TP has his bike !  :-\ I surely hope that Ron has a great turn out for this ride. He has worked harder than the average bear in planning this ride. My hats off to Ron and pleased to call him a Valk. Rider.  Great friends are few and far between.  :cooldude:

Yeah, Ron(aka Blackrams) put a lot of effort into organizing this get together and I feel bad I couldn't go. Out of my control. Bad brand new front tire.My only out would have been to pay for a Bridgestone tire $260 and it wouldn't be what i wanted. The Avon Cobra tire I just put on a couple of weeks ago has something wrong with it. I rode on it the past couple of weekends, but after taking it up to Danny and after he came back from his test ride , his first words were "It's Sketchy, I wouldn't ride it anywhere" He was convincing in describing that he didn't want me riding on it. The problem is that he had to order the tires, and after a couple of calls around town, the Bridgestone was all he could come up with. He's ,of course replacing my tire, but the tire won't be in 'til Tues. :'(

Just arrived in Lexington a little while ago, from Ron's house. His hospitality was outstanding and everyone had a great time. Most fun I have had riding in the rain as far as I can remember. Riding while it was not raining was even better.

Pics when I get back home.

Just sorry I missed it. Can't explain how disappointed I was yesterday dealing with my front tire issue. Only way out would've been to buy a Bridgestone I didn't want for $260. My new Avon will be replaced for  free, but at the expense of my weekend. :(

Back home , after we split from the group in Campbellsburg to avoid the rain we had dry roads and no problems the rest of the way . We hit some really good roads on the return meandering trip . Thanks for the invite Ron and we will see you again soon . Had a real good time , sorry the weather didn't cooperate !

Ghost

Thanks Ron, Cathy and I enjoyed our time with you and the group. We had dry roads all the way home and just took our time. You did a fine job with this ride and hope to ride again with you and the group.

Yes, it was wet before and during our ride.   Sure enough, the weather cleared and the afternoon was clear blue and twenty-two (visibility), just my luck.   :(   But, I'm glad you folks made it home safe and sound.   My last visitor John left about 10:30 last night.   He headed back to Nashville after a Mexican Restaurant dinner.   Said he wouldn't need to stop for gas but once.    Not sure exactly what he meant.   ???

Regardless, I sincerely hope everyone had a good time.   I'm going to have a long discussion with my weather scheduler.   She definitely let me down.   BUT, it was wonderful visiting with those that did make it and hung out with a few Kentucky Good Ole Boys.   I'm going to try and make the Indiana Dragon Run and hope to see you there.

Thanks to those who came and those who tried.

sorry I couldn't make it, :( even took the day off without pay to ensure I got there in time on Fri. Turns out I wish I'd went and worked, spent all day hoping for a different answer to my front tire woes.

Jimmy,
While I would have loved to see you and your lovely wife, we got pretty wet the last third of our ride on Saturday.   Although I know a little rain isn't going to stop you when considering the tire issue, you made the right decision.    Speaking for myself, it was a pretty good time and I wish you and several other folks had been able to make it but, it is what it is and I'm not complaining.   We'll share the road and some wind another time.   :cooldude:

Brad,
I was surprised you and your Dad rode down to join us but I'm glad you did.   It was a pleasure meeting both of you.   Glad you made it home safe and sound.   BTW, should you decide you need any more of that Kentucky Spirit, just let me know.   I have no doubt we'll share the road and some wind again, hopefully without the rain drops next time.  ;)

Back at work today --  :(

Had a great time, Ron.  Thanks for putting it together.  My wife and I stayed over another night and no rain on the way home on Sunday -- Just 85 miles.

Liked Stinkys on the Creek and the back roads I have never ridden before.  Even my wife commented on the nice ride.

Sorry we missed the lunch with you all in favor of hanging with the wingers -- but we are members of the NKY chapter and felt obligated to participate when invited.  We even went over to the KY Vietnam Vet Memorial with the wingers after dinner -- very moving.  Almost hit a deer -- close.

Great to see and meet Valk riders I had not met before.    We will see you all on the Dragon Ride in IN.
