Just sold my spare final drive for $400, turned around and bid on a complete I/S fairing on Ebay. Got it with my bid posted in the last eight seconds. Probably won't be here until beginning of next week which gives me time to find a good hiding place for it. Rita thinks I'm nuts....probably right. It comes with mounting brackets and the wiring harness. Re. the wiring, it's going to take some thought on how to adapt it to the Tourer but I've done things much more difficult. I just like the look of the I/S fairing better than the HD batwing which I now have, seems to have better wind management as well.

Going to be an interesting next few months....or years.  ;D

Will you have to change the handlebars John?
Shouldn't have to. These are 1.25" aftermarket but almost a perfect match to the OEM bars. Guess I'll find out once I start messing with it. Not sure why I did this, seemed like a good idea at the time.  :uglystupid2:   :2funny:

I'm not so sure John.  I really like my Woodys fairing.  I can change windshields out to a different height shield in a minute or two....plus during the winter I can put the Freedom wings back on it for more wind management.  Combined with a set of lowers and a set of Bakers, I've got all the wind management I'll ever need.  I can block just about all the air, or get every bit of it depending on the time of year.

I thought I read the other day on the General Board that Jabba and his buddy Squealy don't really like the Interstate for that reason.  Jabba recently posted a thread on the Tech board about taking his I/S fairing off and converting it to a standard set-up.

I've always liked the way the Insterstate fairing looks myself.....it just seems to fit the bike really well, but I don't have any experience with one.

At any rate, I'd love to see progress pics and pics of the final project when you get done.  I'd also love to read your opinions on it once you get it done too.   :cooldude:
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

What you really need is a Playboy or Penthouse to give you something to do...

Rita was in the shower when the I/S fairing arrived via FedEx. I unpacked it and put it in the storage room where she never goes. Now watch, she'll be looking for something in there soon and wonder ??????????

That was usual for me John. I remember one day she gets home before me, two packages on the front door step and she just looks at me ??? We go out for a while and return as UPS brown truck is pulling away...another big box on the step.
She walks to the garage and starts looking hard, where did those stacks come from?, where that chrome come from? Where did those floorboards come from? Is this a new seat? Have you always had those grips? I don't remember them? Oh that old stuff baby? I've had that in my Valkyrie parts closet forever. ;D
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!
