Benadryl and Day care

Day care centers are/have been giving Benadryl to kids to make them sleep so they don't have to deal with them. The only reason we now know this has been going on is because one infant died from an overdose.
Day cares are now getting as bad as nursing homes.

We had a similar situation in my home state.  A daycare center gave Benadryl to an infant and gave too much and baby died.  They were prosecuted criminally, as they should have been.  This was not directed by any doctor or parents.   They just would give it to children so they would sleep.  Tragic...

we had a lady that took care of our kids when they were young.  we paid her cash, under the table so the government wasn't involved.  she was "unlicensed" as a government required day care provider. she was AWESOME!!  she treated our kids as if they were her own, she'd read to them, play with 'em, even had my one boy (the picky eater) eating foods we couldn't get him to eat.  then, one day, the bitch two doors down from us, that was "government approved", reported her! so she longer was able to accept kids into her house.  she was actually "watched" by the authorities to see if anyone was dropping off their kids!!!  thankfully when this happened my wife was allowed to become an at home transcriptionist from the hospital she worked at, this allowed her to watch the kids at home while she worked.  although the hospital had requirements stating that she couldn't do this, she was able to maintain the highest line counts of her department and they never knew.....

I really feel sorry for people with kids now a days.  it's a damn if you do, damn if you don't situation when it comes to day care.
