Anyone using 15/40 Shell Rotella T in there Valk ?

Disco

Yes, lots of us use it.  I haven't poured any in my bike since earlier this afternoon.

Go to the Tech Board and search for oil.   :cooldude:   You'll have more than enough to read.

Ok thanks, The T is Dino oil right? They also make a semi-sync and a full sync.

I think the 15-40 oils are usually non-synthetic diesel oils.  Mobil Delvac is another.  I've read that compared to typical auto oils they have a better additive package (a bit more zinc maybe) for MC engines with transmissions.  If I wasn't using Mobil 1 these oils would be a great choice.

The Rotella-T6 is a full synthetic. That's what I've used for years

I use the Rotella T6 Full Synthetic 5-40 as well.  I've heard the 15-40W is quieter but I'm stuck on the synthetics - it's all I use in any motor (including the lawn mower).

Shell Rotella T5 is a semi-synthetic that is also a good choice for those that change oil more often (like 3K intervals).

I prefer T6 because I chance my oil only once per season.
