Yesterdays ride to visit daughter

Got up at 0500 took care of the old body and started gearing up. It was 56 degrees when I got up and was NOT going to warm up quickly. Chaps and the liner in the mesh jacket. Coffee and a sausage biscuit at Micky-Ds and i'm in the wind. Over to Murphy oil in Mountain Grove Mo. and I fill up with my wally world card at $3.159 a gal.  North on Mo-95 and within 3 miles of leaving the fuel stop i'm in the FOG.  More in than out but it's all good. West on Mo. 38 and STILL in the fog. I had water streaming off the windshield dripping off the tank and crawling up under my yellow shades.  Hit U S 65 North to Bolivar and than Mo. 32 west. Slowly but surely the fog is starting to dissipate. Hit Mo. 13 North-4 lane at this point-and let her stretch her legs some.  OH almost fergiited to rekemember. Back on 38 I saw a flicker of movement and just rared down on the brakes. That"flicker"wuz a cursed forest rat.  Had I NOT been on the brakes-well I wuz thank GOD. Somewhere between Collins and Clinton I noticed/felt/heard movement that was WRONG. My left side cover was fluttering in the breeze.  Stopped and removed it and put it in the trunk. Rest of the way to Warrensburg was with out incident.  As I fueled in Warrensburg to go home the sun had set. If there was a bug flying around me last night on the way home I killed it with the Valkyrie and my goggles.  Just missed 500 miles and a fantastic day to be on a MOTORCYCLE.  And I am so HAPPY that forest rat DID NOT ruin my day.  Seeing the daughter at her College was THE bonus of yesterday. RIDE SAFE.

Daddy is a really good daddy to get up early and ride like that to visit his daughter.
I trust that there were hugs to go around.
