Is anyone running these horns? Is the install easy or need to modify location?

I had a small piece of angle steel laying around in my shop and a couple of bolts and I mounted it where the old horn was on my I/S. I have the bell or the end where the noise comes out pointing down to keep the bugs and what not from getting in there and screwing things up. Over 2 years and aprrox 32000 miles and it still wurx like new.  RIDE SAFE.

Lots of these and Stiebel horns (the non-Chinese version of the WoLo) on Valks.  Make sure to use a relay with the horn as it will draw too much power for your horn button and melt it pretty quickly.

I had a Rivco air horn on my valk and it eventually stopped working.  I think at some point all air horns give out, whether it's the compressor or the mechanism in the horn itself.  I installed BigBF's quad horns and I am very happy with them.  Nothing like 4 car horns blaring at once!

Does it mount where the OEM horn is? Does it come with it's own bracket?

No bracket comes with it just a relay. I used a piece of ss angle and mounted in the stock location on my standard.

I  have mine mount under bike between rear frender and frame crossmember. Horn facing to the right - as I'm in the fast lane a lot  . It has twice saved me from someone coming into my lane with there windows up and a/c on, I also kept the stock has 2 levels of horn's.

Look above at Hosers post. Mine is mounted there as are many others. I to used a piece of scrap angle to mount it.

I also used a small piece of angle, and two left over stops from my kury highway pegs.

the original trumpets lasted a few years (pointed forward) I replaced them and bought the covers they are still going.

I have the Stebel.  IMHO, I think it's the better horn.  It's veeeeery loud.

I got a short (3 ft....but you won't need all of it) piece of 1 1/4" wide by 1/4" thick aluminum flat bar from Lowe's.  You can find it where they sell metal sheets, angle, threaded rod, etc. 

It's light, very sturdy and easy enough to cut and bend to shape. 

I put a sorta z bend in it to off set the horn back some.....drilled a mounting hole at each end and mounted the horn.  Easy peezy.

Yes.

It doesn't require modification and location change, but you should do it.

As for someone telling you the Stiebel is a better horn, everyone is entitled to his own opinion even if it is completely wrong.  Check the stats.

Make the 2 +1.      I've had Bill's Quads almost from the day he came up with them.    Mounted in front of the swingarm, well where the swing arm was as MGM is a Trike now.   To me the horn(s) sound louder, but I think it is all in my head on that.     I will say this, Bill's quads will blow someones head off if they happen to be directly across from them.

They've obviously changed their advertisement since I bought mine.  I do notice the Stebel is advertised as 115 db at 2 meters.  Distance of the meter seems to make a large difference.

A LITTLE OFF TOPIC, but is it feasible to put a Stebel horn on each side of the Valk?  I already have my BF quads and a standard horn on the side... I'm having evil thoughts of those combined with a Stebel on each side.

Is there any real risk to overloading a circuit or anything?

straying off topic, but no one posted to see if they have a howards hog horn, www.howardshorns.com  in the dynamic duo version.  Guy at work has one off his HD like new seems to be very well made and constructed well if can get for right price for say a new stebel horn,  it might be mine.

but I still like my air horns for the simple reason the moron coming into your lane without looking first thinks they are cutting off a big rig I've even read their lips "it's a motorcycle!?!"

I have an Interstate and have Stebels hidden inside each of the pods.  Surprise !

I had mine under the swingarm.  Even with the horn pointed backwards, they ate so much crud under there, they only last a year (X2), so I went back to electric.  I only use a horn once a year anyway.

The finger is used WAY more often anyway, and never wears out.
