I ordered a new tire for my bike today, I'll get it on Tuesday. The tire hasa very custom look to it and with the Triple Tread on the back, I figured why not get something that looks good sticking out the front of the fat lady.

What do ya'll think? Did I step out somewhere I should not have? Or does it really not matter? I only hear abour 3 brands of tires for the front and I wanted to try something new.

So take a look at Nicole's new front tire.

I have heard some discussion but nobody I know is running them yet since they just came out.  You could be our guinnea pig and write up a revew after a few thousand miles!  It's a good looking tire IMO.

I'm happy with my Venom Rs so far, but if the Cobras perform as well as they look, they're next.

I heard a rumble somewhere that the 'R' was going bye bye and the Cobra was it's replacement........

I have ordered a Cobra for my front and should be mounting it next weekend, I hope.  After that I am leaving Texas on May the 7th headed for California.  Then participating in the Run For The Wall, from LA to DC, and then running back to Houston.  Overall, about 4 weeks and 6,000 miles.  I should be able to give a little idea of the tire in that length of time.

I put mine on yesterday and rode the bike today for the first time. I definitely could tell that there was a difference in the steering but I also had a 40 pound rack on the back of the bike. I really do like the more aggressive look of the tire. I head out in the morning for Houston, so I should have about 800 miles on it by Sunday evening.

Good luck and tell us what you think.

Hey Flyboy  -  Funny you should mention tires .. my front is DUE!  Where did you order your new Cobra from?  By the way, since you are now a member of the "Dark Side", what psi do you keep in that big bully?

Flyboy

I purchased the front tire from Maxium, talk to Shannette in parts. I asked them to match the internet price of $158.00, but the best she could do was around $180.00. They list the tire for $250.00.
I put 700 miles on it this weekend, with 380 of the miles in the rain for 10 hours. The bike handled GREAT!!! I really like this tire. I agree with the guy on the national board that said that it makes the bike feel like it weighs half of what it does.

As for my rear tir pressure, I think I run mine abour 40-45 psi. I think most people run theirs in the high 30's.

I'll see you for lunch.

Ooops.  I forgot to mention.  "I RETIRED!"  Won't see you for lunch today but doesn't mean we can't meet up some other time.  Oh, and by the way, everything's still in place at B & B.  Kyle, my manager trainee knows most of you and will take care you.  And who knows, I'll probably drop in up there from time to time to snag a free lunch.
