I saw this on another forum; and thought I'd alert those that haven't seen this yet.

Thanks for this. I was considering buying one, but not now.

I've been using this lift for several years now, never a problem.....  The bar in the picture is a screw up by HF, my bar would be closer to an inch, fills the hole snug and very strong.  Some one took a short cut on the lifts you got.....

Same here and I agree with the "short cuts"!!

I have the same bar as in the lower pictures and that poster noticed a different design in the framework as well.
Also I noticed the "new" lift in the picture don't have the cheesy front wheel clamp either. (which I changed mine out to the air/hydralic one soon after I got it, clamps the wheel much better and safer)

Our bikes weigh about 850# which is only 150# lighter than the max suggested capacity and I never had any problems.

And that's pitiful these guys paid $350 for that.  With a cupon from some cycle magazine I paid $279 about 2 yrs ago.
Remember, if you are on a bike and wreck with a car no matter how "in the right" you are you are going to lose. RIDE LIKE EVERBODY IS OUT TO GET YOU!!

I borrowed one of those HF lifts to do the clutch on my BMW K1200LTE and it worked just fine, but I did put jack stands under the lift table since my butt and the bike were over the limit.

You should also note that the lift was not put togther properly. Those side pieces are upside down. the L shape should have been on the top side, giving a wider plate for that safety bar to ride on.

QuoteLooks like the lower frame on yours is upside down compared to vintage GW pics.

He put it together wrong, the top is at the bottom in his bent rails. Maybe he should read the instructions better?
