Hi All,

Just got my new Avon Cobras with Ride-On installed!  Getting ready to take a 5 hour trip,  8) traveling 2 up with a bunch of luggage.  I know the basic stuff to check for, but was wondering if anyone can give some feedback on their tried and true pre-trip routines to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Thanks!

Before ya load up n head out, scuff up those tires...  Take a hour long run, and rub the 'shiny' off the new rubber.  Then, have a great trip.

And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Just a 5 hr. trip?  Just gas it up. Lose 1/2 the luggage.

If this is the start of a multiple day trip. Oil, air, gas, and go. Take a few bungee cords with you to tie down the stuff your wife buys and can't live without. A bit of cash, credit/ATM/debit card, cell phone w/camera, charger, sun glasses for day and for night and sun screen. I usually will throw in a pair of ratty old tennis shoes for casual wear while off the bike.

Yea, did ya put a good metal valve stem on both ends?  The bare minimum should be brand new OEM stems.......
But, like brother Willow always says.....
"Friends shouldn't let friends ride on OEM valve stems"
They have been known to deflate a tire rather quickly when you least expect it.

I figure, if the bike runs, and the tires are round, it's time to go. The rest is normal maintenance, so no worries :cooldude:

Thanks for the feedback all!  350 miles round trip, pretty much smooth sailing and only a couple of questions I'll raise on different threads.  Only real disappointment is my Mustang seat became VERY uncomfortable after about an hour or so.  Don't worry, got the chrome stems installed prior.
