Hi all.  I have a 98 Honda Valkyrie that I has 100,000 miles on it.  On my last road trip, the neutral light and tachometer stopped working.  At the same time I think.  I changed the rear brake light, license plate light and neutral light with stock bulbs, per a suggestion on another forum topic and it still doesn't work.  Not only that, but I don't have any lights on the rear end except the brake light when I use the rear brake and the turn signals still work.  I have had this bike for two years and honestly I can't remember what stays lit on the rear when you are riding the bike.  Is the brake light supposed to stay on and just get brighter when you use it?  Or do the turn signals stay on until you use them?  I can't figure it out.  Oh, and there are new fuses in the box.  Can anyone help me?  Thanks so much!

The taillight is lit all the time, goes brighter when you hit the brakes. The turn only come on when you hit the turn signal. Unless someone before you modified the circuits so everything is on and serves as turn/run/brake.

I think that was the same problem I had a couple of years ago. I thought I checked the fuse and it was OK but checking later the fuse was blown.
If you follow the wiring schematics you can trace the connection.
Why it was done that way I'll never know.
So check the taillight fuse. :)
