Telemarketers scam!

For the last month now, there had been a person calling our cell phones asking for my brother that lives in a different state, they called me, my wife, and two daughters saying that they need to get in touch with him 'cause there's a court case being filed against him, and that he needs to pay them or he's going to be sued, their phone number always came up as being blocked.  At first they where not looking for me, but calling my wife and kids asking for my brother.  I never talked to them, but they would leave voice mail messages on my daughters phone actually giving a court case number.  When I called my brother about this he said that it's a scam and that he is current on all of his bills and doesn't owe anyone anything other than his mortgage and not to give them money. 

Last week they called my daughter, we all were home, so I answered her phone.  The lady then says "I'm" being sued, and that I must call 1-855-xxx-xxxx to pay my bill or else I'll be issued a subpoena!!  So, I told the lady to send the subpoena!  And that I knew she was lying!  And that they have no right in calling my two daughters cell phone numbers and harassing them!  Then I got REALLY mad and started cussing out the woman calling her a con artist!  She told me that I would be issued a subpoena then she hung up! 

A few moments later, my other daughters phone rings......  same blocked phone number....... same woman......  I was not very polite.........  I told her that I was waiting for my subpoena and that it hadn't come yet!!  (now, if you've EVER sued anyone, you know that you don't tell them over the phone that they're going to be issued a subpoena, 'cause then they won't answer  the door, or they'll avoid you like the plague!)  she said that the papers have already been filed and that I was being sued....... 

It's been a full week now.....  no subpoena.....  no more phone calls...... 

Damn, I was looking for a good legal court case!  Haven't taken someone to court in a while!! 

Have you ever heard of such a con?  Wow!  Talk about brazen!  My sister-in-law called the company and searched the web regarding the companies name and it came up as a fake website company.  She then filed a complaint with the authorities.

setup a contact in your phone and call it scams. set it to go directly into voicemail.. everytime a scam artist calls add that number to your scams contacts. then when they call the voicemail picks up and 99% of the time the caller will hang up..you will never know that they called..

One thing to think about, those calls sound like tactics , illegal tactics, often used by debt collectors. Even if you don't think or know of any outstanding debt, you and your brother might want to pull a credit report just in case, looking for Identity Theft.
