I stumbled across this author while looking for a book to read on my Kindle. His name is Marc Cameron. He is a real life motorcycle rider and his first book, National Security, is very good. Marc lives in Alaska and rides a BMW GS. His main character  Jericho Quinn does too, on both accounts. Marc weaves Jericho's love of riding into the story very well. If you have ever read Clive Cussler and his character Dirk Pitt and Dirk's love of diving, it's a lot like that. Marc just started writing a short while ago, he has three or four books out now, with another coming early next year. I have been talking to Marc on Facebook. He seems like a really nice guy, that lives in a wonderful part of the country, rides his bike all over and writes some very good action/adventure books with motorcycles in the story. Very good stuff. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation whatsoever with Marc Cameron, just a happy reader of his books.

Have you read any of Daniel Meyers books?

All of them. Own them all. Good books. I re-read my post and I didn't see where I said Mr. Cameron was the ONLY motorcycle rider that wrote books with motorcycles in them. I'm sure there are many more that do also. I read a lot of the action/adventure novels,Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn,Barry Eisler,Larry Bond etc. Mr. Cameron is the only one that I have found that makes motorcycles an integral  part of his novels.

love the jack reacher series of novels  read Wanted Man during the week

now like the Cussler books except much heavier lol   they both have help writing

Daniel writes his without help (well I dont know he does talk to himself often so do those voices count?)

If you want a fun character  who will appeal to most of the folks on this board
read Tim Dorsey's novels
I laugh out loud often when reading them
Start with Florida Roadkill   that is the 1st one  there are 15

If you don't know where your going any road will take you there

Thanks Oss, I'll look into Tim Dorsey. I too am always looking for something good to read. That's how I found Marc Cameron's books. I really like the Jack Reacher series too. I just got really frustrated when Tom Cruise bought the rights to the movie(s). Him as Reacher is the worst casting of a great character from a book I've ever heard of. I have refused to see the movie, nor will I see any other Reacher movies with him as Reacher. I will boycott with my wallet. Anyway, sorry for the rant. If you come up with any other good reads please let me know. I have plenty of room on my Kindle!  :cooldude:

I think 2 of the  most enjoyable things of retirement is riding & reading at my leisure. No motorcycles but a fine writer is Michael Koryta. 30 yrs. old, former P.I. wrote 1st book when he was 18. Crime, supernatural. Just finished The Prophet. Fine read. My son tried to talk me into a tablet. I enjoy the ride to the library on my Fat Gurl. Will check out Camaron.

I have several of Neal Pert's books as well as two of Sonny Bargers biographical books and two books on motorcycle essays by Peter Egan.

I have been looking for a book by Ed Hertfelder called the "Duct Tapes". I'd appreciate any leads on his book.
