Trooper Slams into Motorcycle

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper crash involving a motorcycle was caught by dash cam, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol has today released cruiser camera video of the impact.

The accident involved the motorcycle and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper car in the westbound lanes of US 35 near New Jasper Station Road on August 17, 2013.

Trooper Jacob Daymon, 30, of the Xenia OSP Post, was traveling west on US 35 east of Stringtown Road, on his way to work, when he struck the motorcycle. Both vehicles came to rest on the right side of the road, according to a release from OSP.

The two passengers of the motorcycle were taken to Miami Valley Hospital for their injuries.
The female passenger, Amy Waldman of Beavercreek, was flown by CareFlight to the hospital. The male driver, Corey Waldman of Beavercreek, was transported by ground medic, OSP said.

Both were ejected from the motorcycle at the time of collision and were wearing helmets. Both are out of the hospital.

Details of what caused the accident are still under investigation at this time

From the impact and the distance traveled AFTER impact-just exactly WHAT was this particular L E O doing cause it fer damn sure looks like he weren't driving-he was aiming. And I probably am wrong. RIDE SAFE.

10 seconds from impact to full stop?  Then, he backs up?

My father was a LEO, so I don't have it in for cops, but I do hope there was a blood draw of the officer...  Sad  :(

      Lucky he didn't run over them, backing up in the dark like that, he could not have known where they landed after the impact.

Anyone provid an update on this one...
