The Putin story is still in the magazine if it were not you might be onto something. It just so happens that people actually care about college football in the US (why I do not know) and Johnny Manziel will sell more copies than Putin's bird-face.

But the article and headline are largely accurate. This is potentially this Administration's greatest embarrasment (considering the platform it ran on) that Vlad Putin is the diplomat where Obama was a hawk. One thing to note however, is that Russia's "resurgent" economy is all based on one thing; oil. If oil prices tank again (and they will) Russia's economy goes back in the toilet.

Of course it's relevant! How many just scan the covers? A lot! If the "scanner" sees a cover that makes them want to buy the magazine and they do then they may actually read the article. Will a "scanner" really bother to read the small print on the cover anyway or just hurriedly avert their eyes to avoid turning to stone? If Johnny Manziel (a controversial figure used to symbolize a VERY controversial topic) sells more magazines than Putin's ugly puss then that kind of has the opposite effect of burying the story, doesn't it?

If Time was trying to bury the story then why write it at all? OR even better, parrot the ludicrous story that Dems are trying to sell which is that Obama used Putin in a genius move to force Russia's involvement.

Serously, think a little deeper than just the automaic, knee-jerk reaction you're predisposed to. Time Magazine is one of the last survivors of a dying indutry; print media. They are going to put the topic on the cover that is going to sell copies. It's college football season and college athlete compensation has been a hot topic. It's no more complicated than that.

And I would suggest that you think a little less deeper.....   people are more inclined to look at magazine covers in passing, get a little info and move on.  I don't buy most paper media and can get the info I want or need via local news or on line.   However, think of all the street stands, checkout lines and the like that have these magazines on display for everyone to see (and IMO most see/notice but don't buy).  

Granted, it is college football season, big deal (not really).... there are many of US that could give a hoot less about college football.... and I seriously doubt that is Time's driving factor to sell that magazine.  If that were the case, then what you are suggesting is that people are more concerned about college football than politics, current events etc. .... and that might be true for some, but I doubt the majority.    I honestly think they would have sold more of those mags stateside if they had the same cover on them as they did overseas.   That is my opinion and we already know you think College Football sells more.   So be it.....

Most of them would REALLY have to grow a set........as women are in the large majority in those positions. That fact is a significant factor in the 'feminization' going on in our country and society.......much to our detriment.

"TIME" ragazine gave up any sembalence of being news during the first so called Assault Weapons Ban. They stated outright that they WOULD NOT print a progun article even when it was correcting the fabrications between the pages and was 100% correct.

Nope, but it is pretty sad when our Amaturer in chief sets himself up to "get the bad guy", even though we really don't know who the one was who did the deed. Then, while running around like a chicken with his head cut off, makes 3 different statements while the world laughs and shakes their collective head, he becomes a hawk. When it starts to look like we are going to lob a missle at somebody, ANYBODY, so he doesent look like MORE of a fool at home, a former KGB agent/thug gets to step onto the world stage and make the US look like a banana republic.

Putin is a commie from the old days, but he was the statesman in this, not Bobobby any means. To deny that is to drink the koolaid. Siding with him is another story. Thats what the left does.
Look at Putins statement, it is part and parcel what the progressives have said about the US, that we are not exceptional , that we need UN approval for everything, etc etc.

Of course this hurts our country, it sure makes us look even worse in the worlds eyes. I'm not happy about that, I don't know how anyone could be. But, this fiasco is on obamas shoulders even though he'll try to do anything he can to deny and crawl out from under it. Right now putin has obama in his pocket and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
