My ten year old daughter is privileged to be a part of the Westernaires program in Golden, Colorado http://www.westernaires.org/.

What is Westernaires?  It is a horse riding club that allows all kids 9-19 to join and participate in a program that is nationally renowned and accepted as one of the best high speed precision horse riding (non-profit) clubs in the nation and in North America.

They also teach responsibility, respect, discipline, and a camaradarie in the equine community that is above and beyond anything they will learn at school and in some instances at home.

Why I am telling you this?  Because I am a proud father and I support my daughter in whatever it is she wants to do.

I am not a horseman myself even though I grew up in Montana.  People seem to think anyone in Montana must ride a horse to work!  ;D  Not so.

Westernaires is having their annual Horsecapades show Oct. 26-27th where they show off all of their skills they have learned from years of riding.

I know this sounds like a blatant pitch, and it is ;D  If anyone is interested in attending the show or just wants to make a donation to the club, let me know by personal message and I will get you tickets  :cooldude:

I appreciate it,

Sean
The problem with Socialists is they eventually run out of other people's money to spend!

Some people are too stupid to realize how ignorant they are.

Here she is.  She is a Tenderfoot, or first year rider.

Very cool, sounds like a great organization.   :cooldude:
And Chillerman, don't sell yourself short.  You are an iron horseman!  Ride your steed proudly, cowboy.
Have you ever noticed when you're feeling really good,
there's always a pigeon that'll come sh!t on your hood?

Sounds like a great program. I would think they would require helmets on the newbies and/or younger riders. Great looking lady you got there.

They do not require helmets, it is up to the parents to decide.  Some of the specialties don't allow the use of helmets (such as the trick riders), but that is a few years away for us.  We purchased an equestrian helmet for our daughter and she will not ride again unless she wears it!  Our rule is no helmet, no ride  :cooldude:
