I understand that the Spitfire was a much better plane than the Hurricane that it replaced.

WOW!  Great video!   A  lot of research went into it - can you imagine all the untold stories of other heroes out there?

There are many untold stories. Other Spitfire stories have been told of pilots during the London bombings of Spit pilots flying up to the V1 or V2 flying bombs using their wings to bump and slightly rise the V1 wings to send them off course. Not only does that mean the pilot is sitting on a pair of big brass ones, but, it takes a lot of skill also.

Late teens early 20s and he is flying a Spitfire!!!  Unarmed photo rec-a very serious pair of cojones.  Durn gnats showed up again.  Glad that man got to see that film. RIDE SAFE.
