A little story as I traveled through life. you might find it interesting.

Some years ago, when I was employed as a Environmental tech/ engineer. I was running a 40 thousand watt vibration shaker. .I was subjecting an ARC164 military radio to the rigors of sine wave vibration.

I normally did the electronic testing as the box was being vibrated,  This day we had an older senior tech doing the testing. He had had considerable physicals disabilities and this was his first day back to work.  He had gotten very little sleep the night before. He was watching the radio between testing when he went to sleep sitting in his chair. We had a thirty year old adolescent tech who thought that it would be a great idea to take a picture of him with the lab's Polaroid camera (no digital cameras yet).

Not only did this idiot take the picture of this tired old tech but he woke him up to tell him that he would show the picture to his boss.  When I found out what happened, I took the picture from the idiot (I was his boss) and tore it up in the presence of this old tired gentleman.  His distress turned to relief.  The perpetrator saw nothing wrong with what he did.!!

I can't help but think of this when I see what is happening the last day or so on this board.  Sooner or later, through no fault of their own, younger people also will be in the same situation.  By that time, they might learn that people in trouble should be given a helping hand, not jumped on sorta like a gleeful pack of wolves.

I agree wholeheatedly... I've noticed that some on here just pissed all over the respect that the admins deserve in a time when they are trying to figure out what to do about the dilemma they are in with Google.
I don't agree at all with what Google is threatening... but it makes no difference as to the way we all should act here.  There are rules that have been in place for a long time and they need to be adhered to as well as respected.  That is all the admins have asked for.
Well, now I find myself ranting, which I usually try not to do... but as I get older... I find my filter getting thinner and thinner....

sounds to me like the kid wanted to "get ahead" by stepping on someone elses head.  things haven't changed one bit in the work place. 

my father raised me to believe that by working hard you'll be noticed by the boss, then be promoted.  so far, from what i've seen, the kids that brown nose the best get the promotions.
