Got my new front tire on today.......found an "H" rated Metzler on Amazon for $154.....speed rated to 130mph versus over $220ish for a VR rated tire to 149mph.....I opted for the cheaper one.....looks just like the old one....

I had the tire off the bike and proceeded to try my new bead breaker on it.....and it broke exactly in the spot I had predicted it would......since I couldn't get a good weld on that thin walled square tubing even on low heat with my wire welder.....Hubcap was headed over to help me, so I quickly modified the weak area and then it worked like a charm.....I should have waited until Mike got there, but I was so excited, I just had to try it out...... .......anywho......once he got there, he realized he'd left his RuGlide in his bike.....he had brought his Mini since it looked like rain where he lives......

We stole some of the wife's dish washing foam and used it in some water with a shop towel to lubricate the tire bead and rim......worked pretty good.....and we managed not to break/chip any teeth this time......the frame of the bead breaker worked nicely to hold the rotors off the ground as we put the new tire back on......it made a great cradle for the wheel as I used a small brush and WD-40 to clean the old rubber off the inside of the wheel.......

Got the wheel back on the bike and the speedo gear cleaned up....and new grease back in it....took it off the lift, bounced it up and down a few times and tightened the pinch bolts back per the instructions and then took off to eat at Mike's favorite Taco Stand........

He left for home with some goodies for his Wife to eat for supper and I cleaned up and added my 9-10oz's of Ride-on to the front wheel......took her for a 25 mile shakedown run and put her back in her lair......she was good up to the Century mark a time or two and it seems the new tires just make her "Fall" into the curves like a dream.....almost too easily..... ......

The Old Girl's got 96,452 miles +25 for the shakedown run on her now.....the back tire was replaced 1,900 miles ago, so this set of tires should see me to the 100,000 mile mark......

Should be ready for the FCR now...... ....

Good deal!   Now just because you've got new tires on doesn't mean that it's time to start showing us your hairy back and azz again!   

I'm digging that bead breaker you made, got me to thinking on making me one now.   What irons are you using to mount the tire back?  Are you mounting it while it is still sitting on your breaker frame?

That Hubcap is alright, don't care if he has been arrested a time or two.

I have the tire irons that Harbor Freight sells.....got 3 of them....I taped the ends up, but maybe dipping them in that liquid rubber stuff a couple of times would be better??.....and yes, we put the new tire back on as it was sitting in the frame.....

Mike and several of  you guys have helped me out a few times.....and I sure do appreciate it..... ......

I'm considering making a NEW video.....since I know a few guys seem to like it.....165 views after I posted it last......I bet Clark and Fudgie have it bookmarked so they can learn some moves??!!.....
