Have a guy wanting to know how to do it. Needs to put a Std. seat on his I/S, apparently is a solo rider. Has already sold the trunk off it.

The ones I have seen shim the seat bracket (on the seat ) with washers or nuts...
and that doesn't mean me......

It can easily be done by adding longer bolts and washers, spacing the latch to where it will go into the lock . I have done it on a Corbin or two. I now have a Ultimate King Bigboy on my Interstate that was made for a Standard or Tourer, It fits with No Modifications.

I put an early standard seat on my I/S. I did not do anything other than simply install it. Looks like it belongs there. I have not tried the later model standard seat, but I will as son as I can find one.

I have a later model Std./Tourer seat and there's no way you can add spacers. The "U" shaped latch sticking out the bottom isn't accessible, it protrudes through the bottom of the pan from inside. I don't recall how the early ones are made....are they bolted on from the outside?

I just took a 2000 & newer Standard seat and put it on my interstate with no problem and no modifications.

So I guess he just needs to put it on his Bike and Ride.
