A kid in Arizona wrote the attached
NEW School prayer:


"New Pledge of Allegiance"

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Well, if it was written originally by a school kid in Arizona, that kid is now most likely entering middle age... Seems parts of this date back to the early 90's at the latest...

When I was in school there was a US flag in the corner and we stood every morning and said the Pledge.

God , Religion spoken openly.

We had Christmas plays, gift exchange party, Easter egg hunts,Halloween carnival.

Teachers addressed  MR or MRS,MISS if you called first name you were paddled, if you made below a C you were paddled, Boys hair could not be over 1/2" below collar, shirt tail tucked in at all times, you did not dare say sh-t or pregnant paddled if you did.
If paddled at school you got whipped at home.

Kids had rifles in the truck gun rack no one ever got shot.
We carried pocket knives no one was ever stabbed.
Sometimes we had fist fights after school no one died or even came close next day you were Buds again.

Classmates died cars,mc we did not need counselors.
We got bullied,beat up,etc we did not kill anyone or ourselves WE GOT OVER IT!!!!

We had morals!!!!!!
There was a line that was not crossed  and it is long gone.
I think our generation and generations before turned out pretty good so why did they have to fix what was not broken??

I don't know where we will end up but it is not looking good.

   Yes, I  got paddled and whipped a lot.

Mom and Dad when they thought we needed it we got our asses warmed up. Myelf-i screwed up a LOT. Soooo I got my ass warmed up-a LOT. Never ONCE did I plot to hurt or do away with Mom and Dad. Got caught stealing-ONCE. NEVER tried that again as Mom and Dad were VERY pissed about that. I see this chit that's goin on now and I DO NOT have to guess where we are headed at all.   One of my kids threatened to turn me into child services. Told him-go on ahead but get in the truck NOW and i'll drop you off. And B T W-i'll drop you off there zackly how you showed up in the world-butt nekkid and owning NOTHING. Needless to say that wuz one trip that DID NOT get taken. Day they tell me I can't spank my kids is the same second they can have em. RIDE SAFE.

I've been in a few elementary schools during school shows that my wife has performed, many times at the start of the school day. In each school, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States and to the Texas State flag were recited by the students during announcements.  "Under God" was included.

At least that's the way it is in Texas.
