US government shutdown shows an advantage of Parliamentary system

With a parliamentary system (such as Britain's, Canada's, etc.), if a budget bill (or any other major bill) gets voted down, an election is called forthwith. Also, if a political party gets a majority of seats in the House, their leader becomes Prime Minister and pretty much has a dictatorship for the next four years. Stuff gets done, right or wrong.

Some of us don't like it when they get things done.  When they are locked up, they can do less harm.
