On my way home from a trip up to Lake Placid NY, going down the slab at 70-80 mph bike
Cut out just for second and went right back to normal. Did that twice in two days.
Any idea what this could be. Went through some heavy rain but was dry hours later.

There have been several reports of this happening. I don't think anyone has found the reason for it. Mine has done that several times over the years, and for no reason. No advise to give :cooldude:

Mine was the kill switch on the handlebar. Next time you ride before you start it worked the switch four or five times and see if the problem go away. I ended up putting a new one in and the problem is gone.

Its the Valkyrie hiccup.  You're not the first to mention it and probably wont be the last. May not ever do it again, and then it may do it tomorrow.  Ive had my '99 STD for 3 years and only had it happen twice.
Yea though I ride through the valley of the Shadow of Death I shall fear no evil. For I ride the Baddest Mother F$#^er In that valley!

I had it happen to me about a month ago. Going up a slight incline it hiccuped then back to normal. Tried to replicate it on tne next couple hills but wouldnt do it again.

It happened to me early in the spring, hasn't happened since.

Happens once a year. A little unnerving, sort of like paying taxes.
:crazy2: Experience is recognizing the same mistake every time you make it.:crazy2:

My Valk cut out while cruising at 80mph for a couple of hours on a French Motorway. The problem was simple. My right hand had relaxed it's grip on the throttle and it slammed shut :o   Most disconcerting for a moment there !!!! Remedy? Pulled over at next services and had a rest and strong coffee. I have since fitted one of those throttle stop cruise controls :cooldude:

Similar on my '99 interstate owned since 2001 never a problem.
Bike died throttle down entering freeway as if kill switch was hit.Wouldn't start. Dash lights on but no crank. Lots of battery power. Trailered home and it started no prob thenext morning! Cleaned up kill switch & checked out start button. Bike died again at 60mph going up hill like someone hit the kill switch again. Trailered 2 hours to home and of course the bike started no problem!Checked out key switch, side stand swich, battery ground wire to frame. Dealer said bike was acting like overheating and going into safe mode. Changed temp sensors still the same cutting out on dyno. Anyone have any ideas? Would be much appreciated.
