Ok, instead of listening to all the hearsay, I thought I'd sign up for ObamaCare myself. I currently have insurance but was interested
in what MY rates would be based on my own situation.

Since I'm in Illinois, I had to go to the Federal Site because Illinois opted out of setting up their own exchange.
After giving the pertinent info...name, email, username, password, security questions I got to the big moment and did screen captures
as proof of what I saw....Drumroll please...........

And the little spinning circle was followed by....

I guess I can now say that everything I've heard up to this point about how hosed up the signup is...is TRUE!

I don't know if this is true, but if so, it's something to consider before giving them all of your information.

And again, if true, there's this.....

Enrolling in Obamacare allows government to link your IP address with your name, social security number, bank accounts and web surfing habits

I just listened to what John McAfee had to say about the ACA website. I'm not a computer person, so, I figured he would know. He says its a joke that must have been designed by a 5 year old, or something to that effect. Sounds right to me, just like everything else from this administration.

..

I too went to take a look starting Oct 1.

Eventually on Oct 9 after multiple attempts at diferent times thru the day the web site allowed me to start creating an account.

I got to the point where you have to enter 3 security questions.

Clicking next got me to a page that told me the answers to the security questions were incorrect.  :D

So I backed out and tried again uisng different questions and of course different answers to my first attempt.

Same response about incorrect answers  :D ;D >:( :( :o :-\ :uglystupid2: :tickedoff: :2funny:

Yes, what you stated is definitely doable by the Feds(even considering they can't get their web site to work). But I figure they could
have already had my IP address. I didn't give them my primary email and I didn't even have to give them a SSN. Never got that far in the process. I guess I overloaded their system just in the username/password/security question phase. Glad I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through Cat-so far.

Yeah, saw the last part of it.  He should know computers and web sites.  He really ripped on them for poor site, and waaaayyy over what it should cost.

I imagine the whole ACA cost will go the same way.  Poor quality, poor planning, much higher cost.  Already coming true!

Know what happens to a government website when you stick a couple random SQL drop and unlink table statements in fields of a poorly designed submit form?

Really. You tried to sign up for healthcare on a government website through your computer, while at the same time on the same computer you have a tab open for Pizza Hut and an Italian Beef site on your favorites.

Surely not healthy pursuits. I looked at the "Home of Italian Beef" site. Not healthy looking at all.

Besides, you should have a Chicago stuffed pizza tab open.

You are in the Chicago area. Naperville if I'm not mistaken. Pizza Hut?? All the spectacular pizza options in ALL OF CHICAGO and.... Pizza Hut???

You got one of these in Naperville http://giordanos.com/

mmmmmmm good! Spinach and Cheese stuffed pizza. Love Giordanos. Daughter ships me one for my birthday every year.

On the other hand they would probably bring the helicopters for you if you tried to sign up with Giordanos in your favorites line. Can't be healthy either.

But that's why it probably didn't work. They were scared to have you sign up.

Probably won't let me either.

Like the Home of Italian Beef site by the way. Not that I would even think of purchasing such unhealthy things. ;)

Moonshot...or can I call you Mike? Your post was very good. I got a good laugh out of it. Thanks for that! When I did screen captures, I had NO idea someone was going to critique my favorites bar and do the investigative research in depth that you went through. I must say, you're very observant. I do love Italian Beefs. I've had thousands in my lifetime-probably closer to 10,000. And yes, I did order from Pizza Hut, guilty as charged. Once in a while, it's a decent change of pace.

But I'm not quite ready to anoint you Gumshoe Detective yet. You pretty much lost all credibility when you offered Giordano's as premium pizza. We have one 6 miles away and I seldom go there. Truth is, I have TEN pizza joints right in my own town to choose from. A couple of the Mom and Pop joints blow Giordano's away. Also, you're "Guess" that I'm in Naperville is incorrect. You gotta quit reading my favorites bar. That Naperville link was to the closest hazardous Waste Reclamation site. IF you'd have looked at the left of all my posts, under my name and Avatar, you'd see I'm in Yorkville, IL.

You're right about my choices of food. They're not always healthy by any means. I already know I'm not going to live to a ripe ole age.
But then again, that's why I ride a Valkyrie. Had one totaled out right out from under me and I was stupid enough to get another one!

From your post, based on how you don't miss any details, remind me to lock my medicine cabinet if you ever come over. ;)

And lastly, kudos to you for being a Patriot Guard Captain. I salute you for that!  :cooldude:

Mike is fine!

My daughter, now 22 as of yesterday, was born with a cleft palate and we got on board with the Shriner's Hospital cleft program. This was out of the Oak Park Shriner's Hospital and assoc. with various area Medical Universities.

We generally were going to Chicago at least twice a year since she was 6 months old and just finished up this summer.

So our trips to Chicago are going to be far less often. Which is good. We're glad to have that chapter behind us.

But we did get to like the city. Look forward to going back sometime without the hospital and surgery as a back drop.

I did preface my Giordanos comment with this qualifier  "All the spectacular pizza options in ALL OF CHICAGO..." So I did cover my bases.

And how could I not check out a favorite called "Home of the Italian Beef"?

If I ever come over, you better lock up the Italian Beef.  ;D

There is no good pizza within 100 miles of my house. Maybe much much further.

I'm glad your daughter is done with her medical treatment. There are some mighty fine hospitals in the Chicago area. If you ever get this way, look me up. The pizza will be on me. And just to make sure you went to the correct Italian Beef site, here's the link:
