When I saw the photo of the paraplegic veteran with the barrycade on his Segway I almost lost it. Of the comments I read the one I like most pertains to heating up a petroleum byproduct and getting clothes from a fowl.  :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

No hijack Patrick (you are always welcome in any of my posts).

It petered out.  The NORMAL workday traffic was so bad (plus torrential rain), nobody could go anywhere, as usual.  They tried, quit, tried again.  It's hard to do a driving protest in a preexisting logjam.

I was thinking that yesterday, there's so much traffic anyways how could you tell?

my first experience on the 95 to 495 to 95 was a fiasco. stop and go, I barely got off the road with any time left on my log. when I got up 10 hours later it was STILL stop and go  :uglystupid2: :uglystupid2:

it was friday afternoon into saturday morning. (holiday weekend)

just an observation, but, why weren't there any people of "color" in the crowds?

Happy?   ;)  Not only a "person of color" in a crowd, but a veteran, carrying a barricade.  Actually, there are two!  Bonus!

I remember reading that the bikers on Washington a few weeks ago numbered around 200 thousand.

I could be wrong, but I also seem to remember that when Martin Luther King and the people that marched on Washington back in the '60's, they numberered around 250 thousand.

That 250 thousand changed the direction of this country.

200 thousand bikers don't even get mentioned on the nightly news.

It's time to make them listen.   >:(

I must have been too busy with other things.... I didn't know about this til today.  I just might have taken a ride down.  Yesterday a few of us went for a ride from the Pittsburgh area to meet some others for Brunch in Breezewood Pa. (and a Fall Foliage ride).  I did see an older Vet that had his Trike pulling a camper, parked in the Denny's parking lot where we were, and asked where he was headed....  "My wife and I are going to DC to storm the WWII Memorial".  I nodded, because I have read where others have stormed it and then shook his hand and wished him well.

On our way back to the Burgh, we stopped in the FLT 93 memorial, to witness the closed gates.  There was a Tour Bus backed in to the entrance and the people were talking with a NPS guard at the closed gate as we pulled in.  We were told they caught a biker that ran around the gate and ticketed him (federal summons) and escorted him out.  Lots of pissed people on the Tour Bus.....

Yet we can have illegal immigrants allowed in the Washington mall to protest for reform.
"Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that."

Our problem is that we allowed the Government to use our monies, and even let them solicit for more donations to erect and maintain these memorials for us.... and therefore they control them.  I say... we should have donated to a private fund/business to erect and maintain these and keep government out of it. Maybe a private firm could have managed it much better (most likely) where those even might have made money.  What's that you say.... why not let government run them? Yea, just like the Healthcare they will control.... wonder when that will shut down because a Congress won't pass the budget they want or let them raise the Debt Ceiling or something like that.

that is a good thing.  when the "people" that voted for obummer, start turning on him, then we've got something good going.

Speaking of illegals marching on DC... you know, it's only a matter of time before some twisted genius decides to erect a memorial in DC honoring the "hard work and struggle for equal rights of illegal immigrants."  They'll probably even tear down an existing memorial to make room.

alph,  I know what you're saying, but you can't only blame racial minorities for voting for Obama.  You cannot win a presidential election solely on the vote of a minority.  Nor is it fair to make an assumption based solely on someone's appearance.

Canada didn't do anything to deserve him.

I wonder where he expects to live after his term is (finally) up?  Maybe Putin can set him up with a little Dacha outside Moscow.  And there is no formal extradition treaty between the US and Russia which could be a good deal for him.

I thought someone on the left bought him a big mansion in Hawaii before the last election.... :-[

Bingo, its Hawaii, he has integrated with the group of natives that still believe Hawaii should be a soverign nation, and was unjustly collonized by the US.  It is where he was headed if he didnt win the last election.  He is set up to live like royalty and still be able to stir the pot.

I recall a quote where he said, "There werent any wars going on and he wasnt needed in the military"
My guess is he would have gone to Oxford and been a Rhodes Scholar.

A Rhodes scholarship requires some athletic ability in sport, as well as scholastic achievement.

Unless bong huffing is a recognized sport, I doubt he had any sporting skills to qualify.

I wonder how many of the park police and cops in the first video are vets ??

If they'll "follow"  orders against veterans and WWII survivors....... how much of a stretch would it be to follow "orders" and confiscate legal weapons from citizens ?  Hitler was only one man.....one idea - he needed his minions to follow through with his schemes.

it could be there were fewer there, it could be (if your watch THE media) they have a bias and only want to show angry white men.

the same thing happened at the tea party rallies, if there were hundreds of 'people of color' at one of those events the media would do anything to hide it. :uglystupid2:

i have shared this before and i will say it again. if you took every elected official in america and put them all in one place, they wouldn't fill a football stadium. then there are the rest of us, blindly following whatever they say to do.

a small (compared to the rest of us) handfull of greedy people, making desisions that effect us all, and we just stand by and take it.

shame on us

Some years back didn't we stand up and fight England's draconian measures they were trying to force on us?? I've also heard that those that do not study history are doomed to repeat it. I have absofrikkinlutely no cursed idea what it's gonna take this time round!! I pray i'm wrong but some of these folks will not wake up til after the buses drop them off at the camps. Anybody else still wondering WHY homeland security needs over a billion rounds of ammo?? And yuppers-the sky MAY be falling.  :uglystupid2: Too cursed much chit getting out pointing at-well-ya'll smart-ya'll can read-and last I heard we still have our thought process working-well-most of us. yes it is.  the thing that gets me is they HAD to put a fence around it!!  there was no reason to put a fence around something that is pretty much IN AN OPEN AREA!! the fence was more of a statement then anything else to tell people that "unless you give me money, you can't come here!"  and when you think of a memorial you have to remember it is to remind you of the people that gave their LIFE so that you may be free!  how the obummer administration has the gall to put a price tag on that is beyond me, but he did and that shows me what type of a criminal he really is.  this president HATES this country, and has done everything possible to weaken it.
