From the top of Sunrise Ridge





Eastward on Hwy 64 NC.



Gas station at the bottom of Wayah Bald Rd closed.

Shame. It was reopened by a young woman with a couple of young kids.



Had a good run up Wayah Bald until nearly at Hwy 74



No rooms to be had in Robbinsville due to leaf peepers and a Mini rally.

The run over the Cherohala Skyway was perfect. No bikes or cars to hold me up. Zoom, zoom, zoom.
So I ended up in Tellico Plains, TN  :D





Shakey and his crew from Baton Rouge had ridden up on Friday - 4 on their Harleys. 680 miles straight through. They are riders. Shakey trailered his KLR, his son rode his Harley. Plus they needed the trailer for all the camping/cooking gear. These guys do camping very well.



They invited me to dine with them. Shakey's son )Paul Prudhomme look alike) had cooked up a HUGE pot of spicy sausage, chicken and pasta.



We got a few H-D, Honda jokes out of the way and had a great evening.

Mist became thicker and thicker. 50F and chilly

Pulled up at the gas pump in Suches. Took off helmet, gloves, moved tank bag, opened gas cap and then.............................................



Why the heck does Alpharetta, GA need a tactical commandcenter like this?

Like the "PUBLIC SAFETY" statement on the side. Guess that justifies spending the tax dollars?
